The heated seats control is a slider for off, low, medium & high.

When trying to turn off the heated seats, I slide it down to the off position and hit the down arrow to close the slider. But when doing so that arrow but be on top of the seat control graphic below it and turns it back on. To get around it we slide it off and let the control slider go away on its own.

I know, first world problem.

My suggestion would be to treat it as a toggle button. Press the seat icon each time to cycle through the settings. Get rid of the slider control.

The climate control Auto button works this way to cycle through the levels of Automatic control.

Seems to be a simpler means of control then displaying another graphic display.
What does the capital "A" symbol mean when it appears on top of the heated seat graphic?

I don't "slide" the heated seat control to use it. I tap on the selection I want. 1. Tap heated seat button. 2. Tap one of the three dots (low, medium, high). Done. So it does take two taps but that's not as bad (or slow) as sliding it to get the selection you want.

Yep...same here. I also ignore the slider for temp control and just tap "+" or "-" as many times as needed.

I'm curious, can you not use the voice feature and just tell the car to adjust the seat temp? The owners manual for this car is pretty sparse on details and I won't see my MME until this summer. My wifes Ram can use voice control for the seats and steering wheel and it's 4 years old.

I agree with the above sentiments. There is too much emphasis on enhanced software (with bugs as some have found including me) as opposed to emulating traditional physical controls. HVAC, radio and phone get the most use and should be optimized over other areas. First world problems indeed!

Unfortunately cannot use voice to control seat heaters

Turning the heated seats on is probably one of the most distracting fiddly things I have ever done in any car. What in god's name is wrong with one button for multiple pushes? JUST LIKE THE CURRENT AUTO HEAT SETTINGS!!!!! 1-2-3 back. Geeze ford!!

The great thing about a touch screen is that it can be changed via software.

Tapping the buttons to match the way the physical buttons worked would be super easy to do with an update. I would DEFINITELY love to see that.

If nothing else, they can create an option in the settings to either turn this method on or off for those who would rather the sliders.

For what it's worth, I've ordered an F-150 Lightning with the 12" screen, which means I'll have physical buttons for the radio, seats and HVAC.

The tapping gesture is already part of the UX design language, implemented in the Climate control "Auto" button to set the aggressiveness of the fans or turn off. Tap once, low fan Auto, again med, again high, again off. I think that button is right next to the drivers side heated seat. Seems silly that they wasted all that time and effort to make the slider. It's distracting while driving. The Auto mode on the seat heater is contrary to my use case because I like to leave the climate at low heat and the seat heater and steering heater on to maximize range in the colder climate. Perhaps Auto seat heat mode should follow the ambient temperature (warm when it's cold out, off when it's hot) rather than follow the climate setting?

The slider is dumb. Get rid of it. Just a normal tap is fine.

I also agree that the auto hvac button should turn "off" when you hit it again after 1 bar of auto fan limit. It is annoying to have to open the full panel to shut it off.

Honestly I prefer real buttons still. Even in Tesla which I think Ford is just trying to copy with this screen setup. I don't need ALL of them, but just the basics.

Also please put cooled seats in. They're already perforated, why not add the fan.
I think this would be VERY confusing. I can't think of another car at all (and I rent a lot of cars so I have experience with many different makes) that has the auto button turn the climate off. In fact, most cars you can't even "disable auto" with the auto button. It's just there to turn on Auto and in a few cars, to adjust the aggressiveness of the auto function.
Dear Ford if you are listening, I implore you, don't add "climate off" to the Auto button. This would make no sense at all.

Are you trying to power the climate control system off or just take it out of auto mode? I'm asking because changing the fan speed will kick the climate control system out of auto mode
If it works the same as other Ford's auto climate systems, changing the fan speed only takes the fan speed out of auto, the vents that the air is flowing out of and it's temperature is still automatic. Same goes the other way. If you force it to come out of a certain set of vents, the auto light will turn off but the fan speed will still be automatically controlled.
