? Scriptable FordPass Widget (iOS, iPad, MacOS)

I forked the project and played around with the code to take advantage of the large widget size. I don’t think I have everything perfect but I’m still loving it! I submitted a PR in case @tonesto7 thinks it’s worth offering to everyone, although I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something bigger and better in the works already ?

I love the android layout that someone made. Any way you could implement something like this?
Personally I like the graphical look instead of all the text. When everything is normal, you can hide the status, and just show icons for the things that are not normally.

Not a fan. It looks very incomplete. I prefer the original design. That one looks much more professional and like a final product.

That’s why this could be a different layout. The small and medium existing ones, and this one as a large option. Something for everyone.

Really appreciate your desire for feedback @tonesto7. I know finding a good balance between not enough information and too much information is tricky, especially with so many data points available.

I personally would lean more towards the way Tesla does their widget. Less information, more focused on controls. I know the medium widget (and the small widget) are limited in terms of how many tap targets Scriptable can provide, but I'd pick lock, unlock, power, and trunk access.

When I look at the current widget, I'm mostly looking for range and charge level, lock status, and ignition status. I'm not usually looking at doors, windows, location, or tire pressure. Tire pressure and 12V battery status are especially not needed for me.

In terms of the overall design, I removed the gradient on my version to better match iOS. Created a dark and light mode. True black and true white.

The other thing I would suggest is paying close attention to the way other widgets handle their boundaries/margins. This is the built-in Mail app widget for example. I use it only because it is full of information, so might help you lay out the new widget!

I actually really dislike the Android widget. So much going on. Doesn't look like a "real" thing if you know what I mean!

I like it as well… I’ve learned a lot about the oddities of the widget layouts.
He must have made a custom outline for the mach-e to use in his widget. This is not something I can support easily.

I’ve pretty much accomplished what I want out of the app interface portion on the widget.
It’s all about the widget designs now. I want to support many different styles.
The new modular code structure makes it much easier to support the many different styles.

This is why I want to make a template system so you creative types can go to town and make some cool layouts.
I hope to be releasing the updated widget tool which supports installing the betas. That way you guys can play with the new release this week.

Regarding OTA API Info, this is probably a captain obvious question. Do I find the current OTA version of my car via tappsResponse > version? It's been at 2.0.0 since I took delivery of my car three weeks ago. I have automatic updates on FWIW.

I have the same question, I see 2.0.0 in the data but don't know what that refers to. My car says its on PowerUp 1.6.0 so there seems to be a disconnect there.

That's not the powerup version. It's related to the version of the API presenting the data. It's how they can create new versions with different data and maintain compatibility with older versions of the apps or API calls.

That endpoint is confusing... It shows any assigned OTA to the vehicle. So whatever the last item listed is should be what you have. It will show the status of that update.
Please keep in mind this info is not 100% known, and we are kind of piecing things together as we go. I added the data as another reference for those who are looking for some kind of info since ford provides zero.
