No, he (and others of us) was originally going to get a Premium. But switched to an FE because it was only $1600 more, and included earlier delivery (we think). Now it's $3600 more than the Premiums we initially decided to get. Thus, problem. The minor differences aren't worth $3600.
You liked the car at the original price, but now you don't like the car because some else is getting a less cool version cheaper? I think you should switch back to the Premium. Why can't you just be happy with saving $1000.00? That's a lot of money to most people (including me).

Seriously... None of this matters because that $1000.00 looks like yet another typo from Frod, I mean Ford.

Think about how the pricing on the FE is built. It's a premium with the FE option. They didn't just raise the price of that option by $2k while lower everything else.

I am very happy about this and don't really care why the bean counters and management at Ford decided to make the change.

My wife thinks I am less crazy now about this new car. Keeping $3K in my pocket makes this purchase much more attractive.

Now if the little progress counter at the top of the screen would go from #2 to #3 (In Production) I would REALLY be happy! Or at least let me know when order # 29845 (Premium, RWD, Extended Range Battery, Carbonized Gray, Black Onyx) will be scheduled to be built.....

Closer & Closer every day!

:D

Yes, my First Edition Mach E order has been reduced by at least $2,600, but I feel like it shows as reduced by more than that. I thought that my order pricing had previously showed as over $60k and it is now down to $57,100. Does anyone know if there is a way to see what the pricing was originally at? Also, I wonder what the X-Plan pricing might have gone down to, as I am eligible for that through my employer.

It's not that we don't like the FE at a lower price, it is that we made a decision of which model to buy based on features AND price. The features have not changed, but the price has. I was willing to pay a bit more for Grabber Blue, but not over $3000 more. If I had to have Grabber Blue or the FE had some special feature, then it wouldn't be much of a choice. But there really isn't a huge difference in Premium vs FE so the value for the difference in price is not worth it. And for those that don't care about Grabber Blue, there is even less reason to tick with a FE.

But you don't have the space that you get in a Mach-E, and the spirit of it.

Yup. $1,000 is a LOT of money to me too. You know what? $3,000 is a LOT MORE money. I still like the car - that's not the point.

I guess the thought is that the FE is in the hands of buyers first, and sold out fast, and they probably assume those type of buyers are ok with that. I'm certainly not chaging my order.

I am in that same boat. Part of the reason for changing my Premium to an FE through Machdrop was to get the car before the end of the year for tax credits. $1600 extra was reasonable for the extras that go with the FE. If the price difference is going to be $3600 then I'm probably better off waiting longer and getting the Premium. Fortunately the Premium is not yet canceled. It would be nice if the FE would show up in the orders with the pricing plainly displayed.
Same here. $1500 higher state tax credit if I get it in 2020, so easy decision to pay the extra $1600 for the good chance of getting it in December (although no guarantee).

But $1600 more becoming $3600 more for red stitches/calipers and a few name plates may have me canceling the FE and just sticking with the Premium still on order. How ironic that would be after jumping through all these Mach Drop hoops.

My Premium shows the $3000 reduced price on the Owner.Ford webpage as well. Didn't need to call the dealer and "suggest" the reduced price..

I'm definitely happy with a price drop on the Premium RWD but still curious about Residual Value on the Ford Option or (hopefully) traditional lease program. If it's still painfully low, the monthly depreciation cost won't change that much.

Who said I don't like the car?!?!? Of course I like it. That's why I'm buying one. This is about price and value between the Premium vs the FE.

Yes, $1000 is a lot of money. Guess what... $3000 is EVEN MORE.

More news is coming on this. I just don't know when it will be announced.
