For anyone wanting to switch a non-Mach Drop FE order I'm assuming that just switching trims or changing batteries (standard vs. extended) is just modifying your existing order, not creating a new one. You should keep your priority attached to the order even if the specs are modified. Here is my only question . . . if I switch back, did I lose my place in line, or will I still get my car in 2020? That is my only question right now to try and decide which trim I finally want. Tough decision, but that is extremely important financially with the tax credit to get delivery in 2020.
This Mach Drop is adding a new layer of complexity. I think you're right that the Mach Drop FE created a new FE order so trying to switch from a Mach Drop FE to a different trim may mean another new order and new place in line? If you call the Ford Help desk maybe they can help you keep your pre-Mach Drop timestamp priority?
