I'm 30 pages late to the party and I apologize, but I did not read every page. I did however call my dealer and spoke to the service department. They told me recall number 22S41 was an "update only and no parts would be needed". They did say certain modules do not always update and it could take days to complete after spending days figuring out if it's even needed for your vehicle.

so @Ford Motor Company for those of us who had delivery THIS WEEK, what incentives can you give us for the headaches of having to wait possibly months now with our cars sitting on dealer lots rather than in our Driveways? Think we deserve some compensation don't you for this last minute situation!
Many of us have been waiting since July 2021 (there were problems moving us to the 2022). Also interest rates are going up....

Yeah, personally I listen to what Ron has to say about the MME. Some folks on this forum have a great deal more knowledge about the car than most any of us.

Find it hard to believe a dealer knows this much already

No "hold" but a do not deliver.
The Ford Comm guy said there was "Stop Sale". He is correct. He may also have legal training...

I will keep my fingers crossed for you, but highly unlikely they will do anything let alone respond to the request. Just speaking from experience.

My 2021 Mach E sat in Mexico on a chip hold from December until February when they finally shut down the production line to complete it. Meanwhile I watched builds after mine be completed and 22 MY be delivered. My 2021 Mach E was delivered in March of 2022, so my residual was down because of MY etc etc, but I received no communication along with the many others that were part of the 12/6 build date and sat waiting. @Ford Motor Company couldn't even respond to any of our reach outs multiple times on that thread. Summer chip hold buyers got extra charging credit, but we couldn't even get that. A lot of builds from those that sat arrived with terrible hard water spots because they sat unprotected that entire time in Mexico.

Hopefully you have more success with help/compensation of some sort better than we did. ????

At least for options, your dealer should honor the Apr from your order date.

"A complete Dealer Bulletin will be provided to dealers in the 3rd quarter of 2022 when it is anticipated that software and/or parts ordering information and repair instructions will be available to support this safety recall."

Parts ordering is an and/or... so we'll see. Only time will tell. I'm thinking some cars will get parts. *ahem* GTs

So is this site legit to look up if your car is in the recall? I checked both my premium and GTPE and it appears both have the recall. Not really worried about it......was just curious.

Interesting...then would that confirm this is a software update and not something hardware? Even for GTs?

And then going along that line of thinking...seems like we'll be getting throttled acceleration even more.

*Sad trombone*
No, that is the subject line of the advance notice memo. If you read the actual memo in full it says software updates and/or parts.

Does anyone know if there's a fan or airflow component to the HVBJB? If so... then maybe it really IS just a software issue to better control the temperature and adjust thresholds
No, it is an electrical component. Sort of like a circuit breaker in your electrical panel. No fans or temp sensors in it.

I used DCFC exactly twice since I bought my Mach-e, even then it was just to ensure it actually worked. But I tell you guys, this possible recall has me so worried that I stopped off at Shell ? Recharge on the way home from getting groceries just to get some better grade electrons. Can one of you tell me if I’m doing this right?

Just saw this posted:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/ford-mustang-mach-e-recall-184351974.html

This has an interesting note:
There's no open National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation into the problem, Ford says, which means this is a voluntary recall. Still, it's not a great look for the company.
So that explains that....

Title of the article makes my head hurt... (Ford voluntarily recalls 49,000 Mach-Es due to overheating batteries) this is going to be a PR nightmare for Ford if news companies are reporting "batteries are overheating".... obviously no technical understanding of the actual bulletin...
