Would you be supportive of a Twitter campaign now? When I tried before the recall was announced, you and almost everyone here were against it...
Personally, I am not for it just because I know who's on this forum and I know they are watching. There's Ford execs here, journalists etc. I think this is the best forum for accurate, lengthy discourse that can't be achieved on Twitter. As I said previously, you are more than welcome to do as you please.

What is the start date of the improved parts being put into new builds? Was that from the May 25 build date?
The hold was on pre-May 25 build dates. That would tend to indicate that some sort of fix was made point on or before that date. We have no idea what that particular fix is - whether it's this software patch being rolled out or a more robust part.

This expression could have some staying power.
"That's it! I'm calling the ? place!" or "Well only one thing left to do, call the ? place..."

Yes. In reality, ehat happened was the production line didn’t START any new cars after 5/24 for about 3 weeks. The production week of 5/23 was cut in two and the cars that started the build on 5/23 and 5/24 continued to be built and were shipped. They sat on dealers lots until last Friday, when they started to apply the fix.
The rest of week 5/23 and 5/30 (my week) started to be built around 6/15. My car was built 6/18 and it's in transit now. I know I dodged a big bullet, but I'm not confident that the new part solves 100%. I almost wanted the scenario "new part + old software", but that won't happen.

I think the answer to several of the questions posed up thread will only be answered when Sandy Munro has his hands on an older HVBJB and somehow gets a new (presumably different) one, then tears them down and shows what has changed. Once this "issue" gets enough attention, that is going to happen, or someone else will do it. Ford may not fess up to what is going on, but this is 2022. Nothing remains a secret for very long.

My car was built April 2022 and is part of the recall so the fix definitely did not come before that. I would think it was definitely after May 25th.

Depends upon whether any cars were actually built on May 25. The recall is for cars built before that date. Exactly when the changes were made is not something we will ever know with any degree of certainty. The May 25th date was not pulled out of a hat, it exists for a reason.

I think someone needs to contact the press. Twitter isn't going to do anything, but a follow-up article in the Detroit Free Press or by a prominent automotive journalist or something will probably be more effective.

Your trials and tribulations are causing me to reassess my GTPE plans.

My GTPE is supposed to be delivered in 6 weeks (Aug 11-17). Mine went into production 4/20, but like other GTs in my build week, I was not "built" until the week of 6/13 (that date sounds familiar). Non-GT models were shipped out shortly after our build week. Were our GTs held back to get the allegedly "new" part? One can only speculate. My VIN shows up as part of the recall on both the NHTSA site and the Ford ETIS site.

Nonetheless, I have now tested the i4 M50 ($10,000 markup) and Polestar 2 Performance (Oct-Nov delivery date) and will be testing the Genesis GV60 Performance ("only" a $2500 markup) tomorrow. Of course, the latest JD Power survey has the Polestar 2 ranked at the bottom. I really liked the BMW since I am so familiar with the layout having owned many recent 3-series. So I have decisions to make in the next 6 weeks.

Now if I decide to stay ICE and not go EV, BMW of San Diego has a sweet red M3 Competition with only a $995 mark-up that could tempt me (ugh, but that almost $7 per gallon gasoline). But then I'll have a newly-installed 240v outlet and EV charger wasting away in my garage!
Sad...just received notification that the M3 sold. :(

Wait, weren't you the one who said this: "Ford hasn’t made any statement that it has redesigned the problem part."

I'm not understanding. Is Ford promising a new, improved part for any owner experiencing one of these hardware failures? That would be good.
Yes if your car throws the new DTC codes and experience I detailed, you will be getting a supposedly better part that is engineered properly. That is what @Mach-Lee detailed several pages ago -- there's no other procedure to let you just go on your way and not replace the part with the right one.

HOWEVER, my statement was that Ford has made no public statements that cars built after May 25 -- or that those that continue to fail like mine -- are getting new hardware to fix their obvious defect.

Ford's CEO has been vocal on twitter that they fixed this problem through software alone, and that it is actually a fix. As we have discussed here, I don't think it is.

Some say Ford is putting the newer designed part in cars produced on that date and later, they're just not telling owners with the defective part that they did this.

They're just going to let some percentage of our cars fail and then replace them with a part that lets your car operate with acceptable reliability and performance that customers expected when they purchased the vehicle.

Just looked at what happened with the recall announcement I get links sent to me from everyone that knows I have a Mach-E worrying about it exploding or something lol. All it does is spread misinformation.

There are different scenarios that could be happening with @scoopman's car. We simply don't have enough information, and won't have it for quite some time. These scenarios include, but are not limited to:

1. The software fix failed. It did not do its job and scoopman was lucky to limp along to a dealer. If that's the case odds are very high that the people at Ford will be looking at the why and redesigning the recall software patch.
2. The software did its job properly and allowed the car to continue on, albeit at a less than desirable power level. In this case, the software was designed to prevent stranding people and nothing else. It still means there's too much part variance or that there needs to be a new part design altogether.
3. @scoopman's car is an outlier. Again. If this is the case, we still have no concrete idea of what the software patch is designed to do.

All in all, we all get to wait while Scoopman and family wait on a determination from the dealer and Ford.
We're not going to know anything, other than I'll hopefully be testing the new redesigned part on the same route home in a week!

I doubt the dealer or Ford will tell me what they missed in developing this software, or whether it worked as intended and this is actually what more folks should expect.
