Thanks for stepping up. I had issues with my FDRS laptop battery swelling up and popping the case. So I had to wait for a replacement battery.

Mike
We're all in this together! This time around I bought the two days to see what the tool was like. I've asked for reports from others in the past, so it's my duty to give back when others helped me out.

Here's your list of available updates:

Although those of us with FDRS access can look up and see what updates you may have available and view the service history (programming, diagnostic efforts) we can't see the DTCs you may have. That's in PTS. Your service manager can see your DTCs on his computers PTS connected vehicle 'dashboard' since your car is always talking to the mothership. So you can call them to consult. The "Stop safely now" topic is pretty familiar to a lot of people right now, and it may involve your high voltage junction box contactors.

Mike
Hey thanks Mike!! Those are my only available updates?? I don’t have the recall software yet… So I wonder why those aren’t showing as available? Can you see an update history or any recent diagnostics? It’s at the dealer right now so I wonder if they updated it without telling me

Ok...Hopefuly second times the charm....dropped the GT off Thursday, and picked it up just now for the recall and module updates...

Yes they did do the recall as well as the OBCC, BCM, and the DSP yesterday (29 July). They were also doing a diagnostic pinpoint test but I don't have that reference open so I don't know what they were checking for.

You’re awesome Mike, thank you for your help. It’s in the shop for Stop Safely Now which I assume are fried contactors. They’re probably updating it to see if that solves anything before replacing the HVBJB.

Well they would have had to do that whether or not they replaced the contactors. They have to drop the battery to get at the HVJB though.

Question: is the car OTA schedule time visible in FDRS? Fordpass shows it correctly, the way I set it, but when I open it in the car, it shows Thursday midnight. After I reset it, it changes in FordPass but disappears from the car after about an hour.
What I'd really like to know is if it will prevent getting updates installed?

Nope, it is in PTS that your dealer's service manager can see though.

I'd tell your service manager that your settings are not staying in your schedule and let them diagnose that.

10 Dec '21 build dte, Job 2 car.

Here's your list of currently available updates:
3FMTK3R72MMA62801-30-July-22.png

You'll need complaints to match some of these I'm afraid. They can't charge labor for updating things if there is no customer complaint to go with updating a given module.

I see the CCM, CMR, and IPMA a lot on Job 2 cars and it's all related to cruise control but I don't know what it was designed to correct. I've seen the Body Controller (BCM) on a few also but again, on Job 2 cars I have no idea what they were addressing with that update. I'll ask around to see if anyone knows.

Not surprised your 1 PD was turned off when you got the car..given the tech at the shop was probably freaked out when he drove it into the shop and didn't have to use the brakes. They probably have zero experience with 1 PD. I always find they've turned off my "auto-hold" when I get the car back.
Thanks as always Mike. The rest on the list don’t bother me too much since I can’t for the life of me understand the value added on any of those modules. I will be happy that the service recall is safely behind me and happily get in the back of the queue for future OTA upgrades.

I did, and they tried and thought that it was fixed, but probably didn't wait long enough to see it's gone.

I'll see if it prevents it from getting future OTAs installed, and then complain again, maybe when it's time for 10K service.

Well clearly they are trying hard to fix it.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Your 25 Aug '21 build date means you are entitled to get some of these updates performed under CSP 21P22 (free). You will also be getting about 5 of them done as part of the 22S41 recall.

Because you have a Job 2 car you likely already have working BlueCruise so if you took your car in for the CSP 21P22 and the 22S41 recall and had no other complaints you would likely get your car back with these updates still showing as available: CCM, IPMA, PSCM, BCM, VDM, WACM, DSM, HVAC, RFA, and possibly the GSM.

You may be able to talk them into doing more of these if you had issues or concerns about your seat and mirrors not adjusting to the correct positions for the key fob you're carrying, or that your phone drops it's BT connection to the car occasionally, or specifically if someone in your household has an iPhone it gets very warm when on the car charging pad but doesn't seem to charge very well. Things like that may help with getting more of these updates covered.

Mike

Thanks again - I really appreciate your generosity with your time.

I have the exact same issue. My last update received was the BC map update. Called the dealer Friday and am still waiting for them to schedule an appointment.

Hi - Could someone run my VIN and let me know what modules need updating please. Trying to decide if it's time to spring for the Mongoose. Depends on what needs updating.
