Easier to set the 3rd memory switch to do this. If I have to hit a button, easier to hit one button that tilts both mirrors.

Your workaround is disqualified when you have multiple drivers that use dissimilar seat and mirror memory settings.

Letting the curb guide the wheels is an unfortunate method for some
No, she will use the camera because I told her to.

So I just enabled the feature and I think it is going to be super helpful for parallel parking. Thank you.

One issue (unrelated to the mirror reverse tilt feature) I've noticed with the rear view camera is that the green/yellow/red fixed guide lines do not run parallel to the curb, even though the car is in fact parallel to the curb. See the photos below and compare the position of the car in the 360 window with the of the fixed guide lines vis-a-vis the curb.

Both left and right side fixed guidelines are off (see the first and second photos). So the issue is that the perspective is wrong.

Has anyone else noticed this issue? And does anyone know if it is adjustable?

I have noticed this will happen if the road changes slope behind my car. Otherwise, it the slope of the road/parking lot stays consistent with the car, then the overlay lines they parallel to the curb/parking lines.

Thanks to OP, I successfully implemented this mod on my Mar '22 MME Premium AWD. This was a feature I have been missing on my Mach-E coming from a '17 Kia Optima Hybrid EX. This mod isn't as good since the Kia will automatically tilt both mirrors just by putting the car in R. I hope Ford updates to add that ability.

I don't recall the Kia having the ability to adjust the reverse position like the Ford does, so kudos to Ford for that.

In the Kia you could easily enable/disable the feature with the mirror adjust selection switch, meaning the mirror selection switch served 2 functions: 1) selects which mirror are hooked to the mirror adjustment controls (or none if centered) and 2) if not centered (meaning leaving either the left or right mirror selected), then that means auto-tilt mirrors when in R.

One other difference between Kia and Ford is that the Kia will immediately move the mirrors back to the regular position as soon as you take the car out of R. Why does Ford have a delay? I'll have to see if I like the delay.

Overall I prefer the Kia functionality over the Ford. I really just want both mirrors to tilt down in R and tilt back up when not in R. Ford seems to have made it so complicated.

When I initially read about the delay, I thought it odd. But now that I've used it for real-world parallel parking, I get the reason: it's because one will likely alternative between reverse and forward more than once, so this way the mirror isn't constantly moving. And since you can easily put the mirror back to normal simply be once again pressing the mirror button, if you need it to go back quickly, you can...

Thanks, but with my car it is always the case, regardless of terrain. I'll ask my service dealer to look at it next time I need to bring the car in...

If you disable the rear camera delay does that modify the mirror delay as well?

No they are independent. My comment in the video is irrelevant. Tested it the other day.

When you did this on your 22, did it show the modules with and without the as built? Mine seems to only show the as built modules

Yes - both are visible. Make sure you’re using the latest FORScan software.

I have an April MY22 and had both as-built and non-as-built. Make sure you're using the latest version of FORScan.

@21st Century Pony, who helped pull this mod together also has a March MY22 with both as-built and non-as-built configuration options.
