It looks like your tech tried to update the APIM (Sync) module and had a hard time and just quit. This was on the 12th of August. I don't know if they told you that or not.

It would be nice if they'd knock out the rest of this before you picked it up. it might take them maybe an hour.

Mike
Thanks for letting me know, i will ask.

Hi. I have had my GT for just shy of a year now and have gotten 2 or so OTAs but it's never gone to the dealer for anything. No OTA recall yet either. I am getting ready to bring it in for it's 10k service and was wondering what's available for it? Thanks.

So first off as you said you haven't had the HVJB welded contactor recall performed (22S41), and neither have you had the Customer Satisfaction Program 21P22 (for which you just made the build date effectivity cutoff of 30 Sep '21). It's good that you're going in for CSP 21P22 cause funding ends for that in Nov.

Here's what ETIS shows for outstanding field service actions (no surprises):

And of the available updates you have showing in FDRS the ones with the red star should be programmed and off this list when you get the car back (with one caveat):

Because of a basic rule that most techs are supposed to follow...if a gateway module (GWM) update or a telematics module (TCU) update appear in the list of available updates they are supposed to do those first because other updates in the list may depend on those being up to date (dependencies). The GWM is the network controller for all the other modules, so it needs to be current before anything else is attempted. I have seen techs try to update vehicles and the car returned to the owner with the explanation that they had issues and they don't know what's causing it. I can tell you from working with another member last night trying to update just his BCM and GFM, and getting a 'file security error' that it was a direct result of not updating the GWM first. Once he did that it all went as intended.

I'm telling you this because you have a GWM update showing, but none of the instructions I've attached say it has to be updated. Hopefully the tech where you will be taking your car has enough experience to know that the GWM has to be updated before attempting any other updates. You might mention it to your service advisor just in case.

Best,

Mike

Clearly somebody has been keeping up with their updates or is getting OTAs as soon as they're released.

Broken down, you've got the third refresh of the 22S41 recall updates, the BCM/GFM combo that will enable the keypad 7/8 frunk opening, the doors, and the GSM. Not bad. Probably an hour and a half tops in total time.
Our cars are twins got built the same day lol

Hey @Mike G or anyone else...

Car is in for the 22S41 Battery Recall/21P22 CSP, wondering if anyone can verify that the required modules were updated (I'm guessing there's still a large list of items to update but I doubt they hit all of them, only the required ones.

Appreciate the recheck!

Yup. And hopefully they plan on updating that gateway module for you (you may want to call and check). Below is what they've done so far.

Well as the saying goes...bad news doesn't get any better with age.

Here's your list from the 2nd of June:

And here's your list as of now:
3FMTK3SU0MMA27089-15-Sep-22.png

CSP 21P22 cannot be accomplished with an OTA. It will never happen. And Ford's funding of the labor for the tech to do those updates runs out in November.

Mike
I just got 3.5.3 update on 9/30 and the "DC Fast Charging" update on 9/27. I'm taking the car in for 21P22 - the 21G01 has just recently disappeared from ETIS. (I got BlueCruise via OTA some time ago.)

If you have a chance, could you run a "before" my dealer update tomorrow on 3FMTK3SU0MMA27089?

I'm curious to see what if anything the recent OTAs might have done.

Thank you!

Sadly they wouldn't update it as it wasn't on their list to do, and they didn't deem it necessary...

Will try again the next time I bring it in

Hey Mike G or anyone else that is willing to help. Any chance you could look up my VIN # for me and get some info? I just had my Mach-e delivered to the dealership and would like to ensure they apply all the latest updates before I take delivery. Finally!! Woo Hoo! Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Oh and for those reading along...program 21G01 BlueCruise has expired. Meaning it will no longer be paid for by Ford to get your vehicle updated.

Don't be surprised when they tell you that they're under no obligation to ensure all software is up-to-date before handing over your keys. They aren't required to update anything unless it's a recall or due to a 'stop-sell' requirement.

Hey Mike G, been hearing of a bunch of new updates in the stream. I'm scared to see how many more updates I need. Going to have the car at the dealer in week. Could I trouble you to check my VIN again and see what else I have on the list? 3FMTK3SSXMMA50149

Ty again sir for the assist. The dealer stated that part of their process is to make sure alll updates and recalls are applied before delivery... I guess we will see.
