Ha, Got premium AWD Ext 2 days ago. First electric vehicle. It is a fun car. I like it and the kids too.
I can only imagine the GT version of it and getting cravings for a GT :D

I see few of you upgraded to GT pretty soon. How did you find the GT and how it all worked out(most importantly financially)

Persistence and luck. Same way I found all of my cars. Lots of calling around. Lots of internet surfing. And a little luck. But both my Premium AWD ERs were bought in Feb and April of 2021. While my GT-PE was bought in March 2022. These things keep getting harder to find, not easier.
I think most important was to keep an eye on the ford inventory tracker and keep expanding your search area. Eventually I saw one that “wasn’t there yesterday” and moved quickly.

Keep in mind these have gone up for the 2023 model year and it may affect pricing at a dealer for a current inventory car.

If you’re prepared to pay for market adjustment then it’s pretty easy to find them…

the biggest disappointment about the GT is that your premium is actually faster because the GT neuters itself after a lousy 5 seconds.

I am starting to NOT like the wheels(skinny wheels on my premium looks weird to me).
But then I am thinking, instead of spending money on wheels just upgrade to a GT(non PE) and I get what I want

Both of my Mach E's were complete luck.

1st one I literally drove past the dealer and saw it. Decided to go look at it and bought it that day. Second one a friend sent me a pic of it and said it might be for sale. So I called them then flew up and bought it the next day at MSRP no BS.

My truck was similar. Looking for fun at trucks one evening for the first time in over a year. Found one just listed...called them, they offered me a trade in # I couldn't refuse and MSRP on the new one. So I drove up and bought it the next day.

My luck will run out one day. Been waiting on a Rivian R1S for 15 months now with no end in sight. Luckily I'm in no hurry I love the mach e.

I traded my Select for a GT. I definitely am not sorry, but my upgrade was a bigger jump than the premium. Gotta just drive one to really know.

It’s the same car but better looking, faster and more expensive. What else is there to know?

“I drove a GT and it felt slower…..”
Said no one ever.

It’s significantly faster, but only for 5 seconds at a time.

Not saying the GT doesn't cut power but it's not slower than the premium. Technically premium finishes the quarter mile at a higher speed, although within margin of error, but GT is over a second faster in the quarter mile.

Yeah it’s hard to win a drag race when you’re 8 car lengths back at the 1/4 mile.

Some still theorize that in a highway roll race the premium may be even or pull ahead from 70-100 but yet to be proven.

But if highway roll racing is your thing, the GT will disappoint.

1/8th mile? It takes a very very fast car to beat us there.

Someone doing roll races would be a really interesting comparison! Ultimately doesn't affect me but would be interesting to see. I just see a bunch of people saying premium is faster than GT without citing sources so like to provide the sources that I know of. Maybe Ford will fix the 5 second limit with gen1.5 or 2 but both premium and GT are supposed to be great dailies regardless.

Only source I’ve seen was a Car and Driver review where the premium was faster (time) to 110 mph.

Don’t know the conditions or the distance covered either as time to mph isn’t how drag races work (it’s distance over time).

As I had premium and now own the GT I can confirm this for sure. GT is faster from the start, but after 90 and close to 100 it’s starts to loose the power significantly. With premium once I hit 110 and didn’t noticed how this happened. With GT never did this again.
