Your service tech is problematic and possibly odd...but certainly cannot follow instructions.
Below is one portion of a session log for the 2nd of December where a gateway module programming attempt was made. This is the third attempt of the day:
3FMTK3SU5NMA58467-12-Dec-22Work.png

Aside from the previous attempts this one highlights a recurring theme of the tech simply not waiting the requisite amount of time to allow the update to progress.

After FDRS copies the updated data to a properly formatted USB 3.0 thumb drive, that drive is inserted into the car's console USB port with the car fully turned on (at the point where it says "Turn ignition On. Engine On." above).

It should take about 1-2 minutes for the drive to be recognized and then could take another 2-5 minutes for the contents of the drive to be downloaded to the car after which a message appears saying to shut the car off and leave it for between 5 and 10 minutes (it differs depending on the update) before returning to the car to restart it and wait for the message that the update was successful and the USB dive can be removed from the car.

This tech repeatedly (only one example is shown above) did not wait for the drive contents to be recognized and instead he/she indicated by clicking the dialog box in FDRS that the update failed....after only 4 minutes and 55 seconds into the process.

This tech is not waiting long enough for the USB update to even be downloaded to the car. And again, the session log above is only one example of this behavior.

You do still have a gateway update available. But I'm not at all convinced you need a new gateway module.
Here's the list of available updates:

After more thought...it could be that the tech needs to get a better USB drive. It is possible that all these attempts have failed because they are using a substandard USB drive or that it's not properly formatted. Regardless...that would also be a human factors issue.
Thank you so much for your help. I assume not, but do you have any sense from the entries in FDRS what might be causing the underlying issues with my car? I'm finally speaking directly with Ford about this, but based in your analysis I'm not sure I want them to help me facilitate the replacement of the gateway module at this dealer anymore.

My understanding is that my car hasn't received any OTA updates, but I know I'm not 100% unique in that regard.

When you purchased, one of the requirements the dealership had was to make sure you had FP installed on your phone and that you had added your car to your FP.

They were supposed to go through all that with you before letting you drive off.

What I recommend you do as a diagnostic step is to remove your car from FP and then go to your car and remove your phone from the cars profile..and then try setting it up again and make sure you use the same email address you have for your Ford account as the one you are using in FP. I had a mismatch on my email/Ford account from several years ago (several Ford products ago) and it screwed me up until I contacted the FP team to figure out what was going on.

Been two months since I last ran updates since I only did the 2-day license. Mind letting me know if anything new and interesting is available for me?

Thank you for the advice. I went to go do this, but I remembered once I got into the car that I was never able to associate my phone with my personal profile because, if I remember correctly, that requires you to first set up Phone as a Key, and I was never able to set up Phone as a Key because by the time I got home the FordPass app said the car was in "deep sleep." Is there some other profile in the car that I could/should delete my phone from? Or should I just try deleting the car from the FordPass app and re-adding it? For what it's worth, my logins for FordPass and the Ford website are the same.

And, do you know if there is any value in trying any of the various Ford Connect reset options in the car?

Yes that is an option and I've done that. Do a complete reset of Sync (Master Reset) and as well as removing the car from FP and then go back to the car and then add it back to FP and then associate it with your profile.

Hello all,

I purchased a new Mach-E last month and haven't been able to use FordPass, any of the "Connected Vehicle Features" or Hands-Free BlueCruise since just after it rolled off the lot. The dealer has apparently tried to update various things but nothing has worked and they are now going to attempt to replace the gateway module (if that module ever arrives). Would it be possible for someone to look up my VIN and see if anything jumps out as problematic or odd?

The VIN is: 3FMTK3SU5NMA58467

Thanks so much in advance.
Please check if your TCU is provisioned. See this for details: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/ssm-51228-inoperative-fordpass-remote-features.23858/

I did last round of updates almost 2 months ago. Is it possible to check if there are any pending updates? WF0TK3SS9MMA32760
I had issues while updating the gateway (verification was just running over an hour and finally I killed it) so hopefully there is a new version.

Thanks in advance

You've got another round of powertrain and a shiny new APIM update!

I’ve had two warning for “Stop safely now” where I was unable to start my vehicle and a service soon light yet the dealership claimed they’re unable to find any issues. My last service was Friday and the dealership said all available updates were applied.

Thanks for the info Mike - Any idea if it's worth the $50 to get these done soon? I'm guessing the HVAC is the 3.6.1 or whatever OTA, which I don't believe I've received yet. Weird that there are more door module updates as well.

Yeah the HVAC is that 3.6.1...and the door modules are reversions to the previous "-AH" from the "-AL" you have now.

The other stuff is fine-tuning of the powertrain modules...again, some more.

my dealer said they conducted the CSP to install bluecruise, but when i went to look at it, my driver assistance settings did NOT say "hands free lane centering", just "lane centering"

is there a way in FDRS to make sure everything was installed?

i'll state in advance i can't just go on the freeway to test it for a variety of reasons, one of which is that my car's GPS is not working, but i just don't want to have to go back to dealer separately for the bluecruise topic assuming they ever manage to fix the GPS...
