Have an annoying error of malfuntion trunk release and icons in my dashboard.
Thanks in advance for the trouble and effort.

Dirk;

Happy New Year!

Yes. They were trying to fix something and may have messed the Frunk system up by the look of it.

i signed up for 2 days worth of FDRS so if someone wants me to run their VIN i can.

i just ran mine and am a little puzzled, i know there is an update to SYNC that i don't have and my bluecruise maps are out of date, but this is all i see in the updates tab:

this car was manufactured on 8 November 2022. do these updates seem right?
Yes. It does look right. Your car came out of the plant with "-AL" revision software and that software has already been 'reverted' to a previous version of "-AH" out in the wild. Why the plant keeps putting the "-AL" revision software into production cars is a mystery since it got changed out here in the real world a couple of months ago.

The OBCC we all got, all model year Mach-Es and Lightnings, about three weeks ago now.

thanks for that info - really interesting.

would these updates be applied OTA if my TCU were working properly? i took the car into the dealer this morning to replace the TCU and told them about these updates. from the iPad the advisor was using he could not see this list of updates pending - he thought this was due to the bad TCU but that doesn't make sense as FDRS is able to see them without any connection to the car.

in the end he said they might not have time today to apply all these updates by hand, so i'm wondering if they will eventually come if they actually resolve the TCU problem.

thanks

Howdy - I have not yet received the 22S41 update and someone mentioned I may have received it without being notified. If it is possible to look up it would be appreciated. Not really worried about it as I have an appointment at the end of March for 10,000 mi check up and and to load this recall software.

They would likely not come by OTA anytime soon. Door modules have never appeared in an OTA that I am aware of. OBCC maybe, but it's doubtful the door modules would.

ok thanks, i'll tell them to keep the car an extra day if they say they don't have time to do those updates.

does ford keep any kind of documentation on what exactly these various module updates do? there seems to be a long "code number" string associated with them which implies that they might, but maybe it is not public?

Well since the set of powertrain modules received at least three updates throughout the summer (since the recall was announced), even if you did get the 22S41 update performed at the dealer it would all be overwritten by the latest version of the PCM, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMB, and SOBDMC in your list below. This is one of those groups of updates that keeps getting tweaked by the software engineers.

Well sometimes we get clues from a TSB that says something like "if this component is doing that, then, update the component to the latest software revision". And we then deduce that this problem will be fixed by that update.

On the door thing, I don't know, and haven't read anywhere else, where there is a consensus as to what it was supposed to address. Or why it went from "-AH" to "-AL" and back again to "-AH".

I'm sure there are insiders on the forum who probably know but there's a thing called an NDA......

Would someone mind running my VIN? I have a Job 1 '21 and in EA (not VIP EA), but haven't gotten anything since 3.5.4.2. Wondering if something is "stuck" on the server side.

Thanks!
