It’s a typical defense mechanism for people like him who aren’t happy with a product they bought, has to knock everyone else down and spew false facts to justify their decision. Otherwise why wouldn’t they just share a bad experience, and move on? ?It's definitely not x20 any other car forum, that's just flat out untrue. There are, as a whole, a fairly limited number of issues here and most of them are comparably pretty small, like profiles not sticking for some owners. There are also WAY more MME owners than most any other model BEV, especially i4s, outside of Tesla and maybe the Bolt. Even if 95% of MME owners had that profiles (ours has been fine) issue, it would still be a smaller issue than 10% of owners needing a motor replaced. The only "true" MME issue that I think most worry about is the junction box. You also went on to say, "it's been 3 years and cars are still having the same problem". Show your work with actual evidence please, assuming you mean the junction box.
Show all the 2022 late build and 2023 MMEs that have, with actual evidence, had the junction box issue and not just a thread where someone said "oh no its the HVBJB issue again" because someone got a stop safely message. It's ABSOLUTELY a problem that shouldn't have existed to begin with, but to claim it's happening going on 3 years is, as far as I have seen anyway, not a genuine claim.
As to your buddy with the Lightning battery replacement, assuming you didn't just make it up, it's well known that there is a recall on a small number of Lightnings for the battery. They stopped production for two weeks to work it out. Not the first, nor will they be the last, manufacturer to issue battery recalls. We are over 100 years into ICE vehicle development and they have recalls still on engines, transmissions, etc. BMW ESPECIALLY has them. So why that's an looooooooooool thing I don't know, unless again you are just trying to prop an ego up on clouds of imagination. Either way, good luck with the i4. I am glad you know the i4 won't ever have a battery recall or anything to that effect, the rose colored glasses of people that just get a vehicle and think nothing bad will ever happen is sure an interesting one to watch.
