It's definitely not x20 any other car forum, that's just flat out untrue. There are, as a whole, a fairly limited number of issues here and most of them are comparably pretty small, like profiles not sticking for some owners. There are also WAY more MME owners than most any other model BEV, especially i4s, outside of Tesla and maybe the Bolt. Even if 95% of MME owners had that profiles (ours has been fine) issue, it would still be a smaller issue than 10% of owners needing a motor replaced. The only "true" MME issue that I think most worry about is the junction box. You also went on to say, "it's been 3 years and cars are still having the same problem". Show your work with actual evidence please, assuming you mean the junction box.

Show all the 2022 late build and 2023 MMEs that have, with actual evidence, had the junction box issue and not just a thread where someone said "oh no its the HVBJB issue again" because someone got a stop safely message. It's ABSOLUTELY a problem that shouldn't have existed to begin with, but to claim it's happening going on 3 years is, as far as I have seen anyway, not a genuine claim.

As to your buddy with the Lightning battery replacement, assuming you didn't just make it up, it's well known that there is a recall on a small number of Lightnings for the battery. They stopped production for two weeks to work it out. Not the first, nor will they be the last, manufacturer to issue battery recalls. We are over 100 years into ICE vehicle development and they have recalls still on engines, transmissions, etc. BMW ESPECIALLY has them. So why that's an looooooooooool thing I don't know, unless again you are just trying to prop an ego up on clouds of imagination. Either way, good luck with the i4. I am glad you know the i4 won't ever have a battery recall or anything to that effect, the rose colored glasses of people that just get a vehicle and think nothing bad will ever happen is sure an interesting one to watch.
It’s a typical defense mechanism for people like him who aren’t happy with a product they bought, has to knock everyone else down and spew false facts to justify their decision. Otherwise why wouldn’t they just share a bad experience, and move on? ?‍♂

Thank you for all the comments. I want to clarify that I am not trying to troll with this post - I am just showing my experience. I wanted to like and love this car but it keeps having problems.

I tried calling my Ford dealership and they are of no help. They don’t know when they have an appointment available and they refuse to send over a tow truck - they tell me it’s my responsibility.

Although I agree with the other posters that cars including BMW and Tesla all have lemon cars and it is outside of the control of a car company. The car company can control how they deal with problems when they happen. Ford takes no responsibility - that is disappointing.

In the past with BMW I had two problems (a flat tire and a broken fast charge port after 28k miles). In both occasions BMW sent over a tow truck free of charge and I got help almost immediately.
While you hear stories of bad dealers from pretty much all brands, EVs are not cheap and this is a going to a problem for the main stream brands as when you start charging a premium price people are going to start expecting the premium service to go along with it.

People should be treated well regardless of the vehicles stick prices but all to many ford dealers treat customers with issues as an inconvenience to be given the least amount of attention possible.

With BMW I didn't even have to go through the dealership! BMW had a dedicated hotline that was built into the car. It was a button on the roof of the car that dialed into the BMW service department.

Am I the only one that has a Ford Roadside Assistance button in Ford Pass?

You can request roadside assistance from the Ford Pass App and they will dispatch a tow truck to your location and tow it to the nearest Ford dealer. Once the car gets to the Ford dealer it may sit on their lot for some time before they get it in to look at it, but opening a case with the BEV team (or sending a PM to Ford here on the forum) MIGHT get the car in a little quicker.

I've had the i4 for longer than I had mach-e and have had maybe 1 small issue compared to the 80 problems I had with the mach-e. Everyone here can talk all they want it means nothing.

Maybe you just got a bad part?
That does happen from time to time….that’s what a warranty is for. If more 2023 fail then Fords got a problem.

Thinking many here are waiting for you to sell your BMW so you go to that forum to bash it and leave this one alone. As you have no problems with the MME what are you exactly complaining about? You know your the definition of a troll? Are you a BMW sales guy or something?

Not to mention, it seems every HVBJB failure story on here invariably includes a Ford Roadside Assistance failure story

I agree the dealership experience is frustratingly inconsistent. It’s just the model, it needs to go.

I can see your point. You got burned on the MME and are venting. You have made your statement and everyone knows how you feel.

I, on the other hand know fully well that the MME isn't a perfect car by no means, but I do think it is silly to stay on a forum and "bash" the car knowing full well that some people take it personally and that, you are in effect insulting them.

I would suggest that when you say that many on this forum's talk means nothing, that you simply move on and let us have a little less confrontation and more problem solving with the issues that all cars have here and there.

Btw, BMW's brand reliability ratings (as a whole) aren't any better than the Ford brand. In fact, many times BMW's ratings are worse. Not certain on the i4 but I would be a little hesitant on bragging about a BMW rating until I tested it a few years out. (because of their past record)

In any event, I hope you have nothing but good luck going forward. ?

What's frustrating is that they've had a problem for 3 years now, yet they have not made a proper recall for it. They're basically just waiting for these thing to fail to fix them. I really want to love this care because lets face it, it's a blast to drive and it looks awesome, but Ford as a company has dropped the ball time and time again with it. Between these hardware failures and keeping us in the dark about software changes (I still get pissed at their quirky "more phews and less uh ohs" release note), buying another Ford in the future is a really hard pass for many.

To the OP, sorry to hear this happen to you. It sucks and Ford needs to do better. I've been one of the lucky ones with mine where I am 23k miles in with only one dealer update needed for an error (knock on wood). Go to a car that will make you happy and work well for you. The one you got isn't it.

Now, I'm going to sit back and enjoy watching everyone feed the troll. :)
