Second update:
After waiting 4 hours for a tow. I arrived at the dealership. The dealership told me that they cannot look at the car until April 6th because “they have a lot of Mach-Es in”. Even though they told me that they were open until 7pm - today they decided to leave early because of St. Patricks day. Because of that I was unable to get a Lyft home like they promised.

The Lyfts and Ubers to get home are $80. I am now at a Taco Bell waiting for the rates to go down. FML

Damn it, I beat the hell out of my 21 GTPE and can't get the HVBJB failure to occur. The car is cursed!!! It just won't break. It's about to hit 18k on the oh-doh-meter.

I did just get 4.2.2 update, again. The message said something like "we sent it to you again for housekeeping measures" or something.

I can see your point. You got burned on the MME and are venting. You have made your statement and everyone knows how you feel.

I, on the other hand know fully well that the MME isn't a perfect car by no means, but I do think it is silly to stay on a forum and "bash" the car knowing full well that some people take it personally and that, you are in effect insulting them.

I would suggest that when you say that many on this forum's talk means nothing, that you simply move on and let us have a little less confrontation and more problem solving with the issues that all cars have here and there.

Btw, BMW's brand reliability ratings (as a whole) aren't any better than the Ford brand. In fact, many times BMW's ratings are worse. Not certain on the i4 but I would be a little hesitant on bragging about a BMW rating until I tested it a few years out. (because of their past record)

In any event, I hope you have nothing but good luck going forward. ?
Thank you. Well stated. I also googled BMW’s track record and discovered the same results as you. I got a good chuckle out of it. He’s their problem now.

Sounds like you are figuring it out and should survive no probs ?. You tried it again and still it would not go in gear? Did you try a 12V charger on it? First time mine would not go in gear it got towed also. You should find someone here to DM with your VIN who can read your code to see if any of the HVJB contacts got stuck.

You could rename it to TacoBell when you get it back. Mine was named Karma so there was no need to rename. Buying new tech finally caught up to me ;)

I did not try driving it long distances but the warning lights did not come out when I drove it across the parking lot. It seemed to function like normal...

There is no need to rename. I am going to get out of this car. First and last Ford I'll ever buy. Learned my lesson - my next car will be named "wisdom".

Idiot lights require duct tape. There is an OK button on the steering wheel (audio volume push)

You were driving it so it went in gear. Sounds like you have it figured out best of luck with with wisdom.

Only an idiot would call a powertrain malfunction light an "idiot light".... best of luck with your Ford.

It has been a slice but ironing out the bugs here now and hope almost done. Piece of trim damaged during HVJB/BECM replacement I want replaced and a departure schedule. All else has been working well for months. Car has always driven fantastic when it goes in gear. Thanks I will be enjoying driving this one hopefully for quite a few more years.

And yet you have a DeLorean as your avatar and your next car will be called "wisdom".

Try this. Go back in time (via Google) and type "DeLorean Quality".

Thanks for the suggestion, I just did. Apparently DMC had the slogan - "Quality is Job 1". Oh wait.. that was another company.

At least with a DeLorean the doors opened vertical and there was enough coke to make you forget about your problems!

The Mach-E has none of that. Farley should hide a Xanax in the doors - would make living with a Mach-E much more bearable.

Well, if you would have actually researched the car you would have found that they used a Ford engine and yet you are defending them?

Wisdom...................

Too funny.

Actually they abandoned the Ford V6 in favor of the Peugeot-Renault-Volvo engine because it was the more reliable choice. Things have not improved!

See Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMC_DeLorean

Originally, the car was intended to have a centrally-mounted Wankel rotary engine. The engine selection was reconsidered when Comotor production ended and the favored engine became the Ford Cologne V6 engine.[16]

Appearing in October 1976, the first prototype was completed by American automotive chief engineer William T. Collins, formerly chief engineer at Pontiac. The prototype was initially known as the DSV-1, or DeLorean Safety Vehicle.[17] As development continued, the model was referred to as the DSV-12,[18] before changing to DMC-12, the "12" deriving from the target list price of $12,000 upon release.[19]

The Ford V6 engine would soon be abandoned in favor of the complete drivetrain from the Citroën CX 2000—deemed a more reliable choice.[20] The 1,985 cc (121 cu in) I4 engine from Citroën was ultimately deemed underpowered for the DeLorean. When Citroën learned of DMC plans to turbocharge the engine, Citroën suggested that DMC find another engine.[21] Eventually the fuel-injected V6 PRV engine (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) was selected. As a result, the engine location had to be moved from the mid-engined location in Prototype 1 to a rear-engined location in Prototype 2, a configuration which would be retained in the production vehicle.[22]

Really !

I thought the HVBJB issue was behind us for '23 ???

Did Ford not change out the parts completely or are they using the same old parts from their bin boxes ?

OTOH: my first gen, first model year, guinea pig tester:'22 Lightning has been nothing but short of perfect since day 1.

Maybe I should rethink about keeping the '22 Lightning instead of trading it in for the 11 month old ordered '23 MME somewhere in the twilight zone ???
I have both. Keep your Lightning.
