We need to start a master list of Soon promises.
All things Soon.
Done.

There's far more questions than answers in this post. The biggest is if anyone will ever able to reserve it.

Bitch Bitch Bitch, thats all I read!
Farley originally stated we would all get an adapter, tried to backpedal a bit and finally caved in and officially anounces the "complimentary" adapters.

Please take this for what it is, @Ford trying their best to keep their customers happy!

I for one am not really concerned agout the eventual release, just glad that it may someday happen!

Just something else to stuff in the Frunk and probably never use

The rest of the world catches up.

PSA: Please use the charger furthest to the right then start stacking up from there. Even better, if there’s an open spot to the right of the charger make sure to park there for your charge. That way non-Teslas never block more than one space and potentially zero chargers get blocked.

Now, in practical terms it shouldn’t make a difference since most Superchargers have plenty of open stalls but we should all get into the habit of taking the stall furthest to the right.

For sure the dealers should be given a pile of them so that every new buyer receives one at delivery.

But this post seems pretty clear that he's talking about current owners. Perhaps "eligible" means retail customers that still own the vehicle, not like fleet buyers or those who have sold already.
Why not make it another ala cart item for the new cars. I mean $800 a year BC, surely you'll pay another $400? For this hunk of plastic.

Those folks made educated guesses and have otherwise been extraordinarily helpful here. Crowing about what might have well been a mid-course correction seems petty.
But the way they come off is what I don't like. They act like others are dumb for thinking differently. When I read the original tweet my educated guess was that they were going to be free. He said they would send every owner of their EV's an adapter. To me, the "everyone" more likely implied free than charging for it. If they charged for it "everyone" wouldn't be receiving one. I think it was always their intent to ship them free of charge to current owners. They want their EV owners to be happy and to make fast charging more available and less complicated. This will cost them some money but will only benefit them in the long run.

ford: we'll soon be sending every ford EV customer $300, no strings attached
mach-e forum: but what if a string was attached? how is that string attached? how long is the string? when is the string coming?

Does it solve the rear end bounce?

Once again the people "in the know" on this forum were wrong. So many said Farley wasn't clear in his tweet and that Ford wouldn't be sending these out for free. Once again, crow must taste nice.
To be fair, there was at least one interview published with Ford’s charging director (I think it was on State of Charge), and he stated on camera that we would have to buy the adapter after being specifically asked. Buying them was the plan for long time. But apparently Farley ordered a change to complementary fairly recently. Those that said it wasn’t going to be free were reiterating the facts shared by Ford employees at the time. Can’t really blame people if they were told wrong, or if the plan changes last minute. It was not speculation.

EDIT: Found the timestamp:

Might have been mentioned in here somewhere, but in a Quick Look at a picture here, doesn’t look like there is a lock. Probably get to use it once and poof, it’s gone

It would be good, if the adapter locks with the car or the cable.
Otherwise.....
That was my first concern - although I don't intend to use Tesla SCs very often, when I do charge on one I'll probably default to a 'stay in the car' strategy while charging.

this pic shows a lock and release catch on the NACS side:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Ford to Offer Complimentary Tesla Supercharger Adapter to Eligible Mach-E Owners (1/31/24 Update) Fast Charging Adapter (NACS) 2

tesla usually locks on the car side and the magic dock locks onto the cable so i'm guessing there is some communication with the charger to lock in place while it is locked with the CCS1 side to the vehicle too.

Yup. "How do we sign up?" He pretty clearly said "More details soon". That's not clear?
