Dealership has been hounding me regarding open CSP (23B50 - stuck cord reporgram). Had hoped to get OTA, but have not received an OTA since August 23.

VIN 3FMTK1SS9MMA42323

I'm curious what other updates are pending, I'm going to look for open CSPs to try to get them to bring it more current, at Ford's dime! I occasionally get "drive mode unavailable" and "front camera fault" - which I think I can tie back to an open program

Thank you!!

That CSP will update the powertrain items in this list (PCM, ABS, SOBDMC, BECM, SOBDM, and SOBDMB).

The front camera fault may get you the IPMA/PSCM combo done.

@Mr9Toes

That GWM (gateway) update is the key to getting newer updates to show up and they didn't do that one.
Enlighten me on something, please. Did the job 1 MME's have an issue like the ICE trucks did with the old Sync software that would prevent them from getting updates unless the APIM was manually updated or swapped out (Sync versions 20262/20301)? Or were you guys spared from that hell hole?

Yes...you're referring to what happened with the notorious OTA 1.7.1 where everybody got "stuck" afterwards. My '21 model had to have the APIM replaced in Feb of '22 for that reason. They didn't have the procedure to side-load in and clear out the data corruption until months after that.

So, my car has been in the shop since Jan 5. They told me on Jan 22 that they were ordering a new APIM and TCU. They said parts would take 3-5 days to come in. It's now 8 business days later and I just got status that I should expect my car to be ready next Wednesday Feb 7. How long should it take to replace APIM and TCU? Assuming it took 5 days for the parts to show up, that would mean 7 days to replace APIM and TCU - if I get my car back on Feb 7, which I'm honestly not holding my breath for after all this whole process. Does that seem reasonable? I'm not able to get much status from the dealer other than "we're still working on your car."

Also, they said my warranty covered a rental car for 5 days, which has long gone by (it's been almost 30 days). Is there anything I can do to get a loaner/rental? I've just been renting a car on my own if I need it, which I haven't too much, since I'm able to work from home for the most part.

VIN 3FMTK3R70MMA00183 if anyone is able to look anything up about it!

I can tell you they have not done any module programming since the last time I checked your car mid January. On 1/22, they pulled the workshop manual that shows how to replace the TCU. i am guessing they are still waiting for the parts to arrive.

Thanks. It would be nice if they were at least more open and instead of saying "we're still working on your car" they could have said "we're still waiting on parts" and it would make a little more sense! I did call them on day 5 after ordering parts and they said parts still hadn't shown up, but they had me scheduled for yesterday to perform the work. Sounds like probably nothing happened yesterday. Just a little more transparency would be nice, I spent a lot of money on this car and 25% of the time I've owned it (4 months) it's been in the shop.

Any idea how long it would take to replace APIM and TCU? Is that multiple days? I'm wondering if once they replace those, if there will be a ton of updates to get all the other modules up to date.

IMO? If there are no issues, replacing both and programming can be done in one day. As a dealership employee, I doubt that will happen. Once the parts arrive, the entire dealer isn't going to stop what they're doing to work on your car. The job will be put in the queue for the tech assigned to work on your car and he will get to it when he gets to it based on whatever other open tickets he has to close out before getting to yours.

Got it. I understand they aren't just going to drop everything to work my car. That's how I took it when they scheduled me for yesterday - was that they were expecting the parts to show up Monday this week at the latest (based on the 5 days) then they scheduled the tech to work on it a few days later in case parts showed up a bit late. Sounds like maybe they are expecting more delays for the parts.

Is there any concern about not driving the car for this long? It's been sitting at the dealership, undriven, for almost a month now. If I recall correctly, Ford recommends disconnecting the 12V battery when the car sits for a month or longer.

I noticed in FordPass it now says "Drive your vehicle to reconnect FordPass and exit battery saver mode."

I updated everything available for my car in FDRS two months ago and since then have not received any OTAs as far as I know. Would appreciate it if someone could check what new updates are available to me. Trying to decide when is the right moment to buy another 48 hour license as I only want to update when I will notice (or need) the changes it makes. 3FMTK3SU4MMA36930

Ah. Not sure why the would have asked you to bring it in if all parts were still not there. Hard to say as different dealers work differently. At my store, we'll say it takes longer then we expect to account for complications. Better to look like heroes if we get it out sooner than have to explain why it's not ready when we said it would be.

As far as the battery goes: Yes, you're supposed to leave it on a trickle charger of unused for extended time. I'm sure once they hook it up to FDRS it even sooner, they'll see the voltage and charge it up.

Yeah, that all makes sense. I have no idea the state of my car if they took things apart already or what. I initially took it in for HVBJB recall and asked them to look at these other issues I've been seeing. HVBJB has been fixed since Jan 16. It took them about a week to diagnose the other issues and order the APIM and TCU, so maybe they had to pull stuff apart in their diagnosis?

That's a good point though, I should ask if it's possible to come get my car in the meantime and take it back in when parts are there and ready. Would save me a few days of a rental at least. I've been hesitant to do that just because it sounded like it would get fixed soon, but they just keep pushing it out further and further.
