I purchased a 2021 Premium Mach E AWD on 5/30/2023. I got the dreaded HVBJ warning this morning. I took it to my closest dealer and inquired about getting a loaner. They checked their system and only showed the manufacturer warranty, nothing else. I called Ford Protect to inquire, and they didn't show anything either.

I checked my paperwork and I have the paperwork showing I purchased the PremiumCARE EV extended warranty, signed and dated. I have called the dealership twice and have been told, "I'll do some digging and call you back." So far no word yet.

Has anyone else been in this position before? I understand paperwork snafus can happen, but I would hate to this the original dealership took my money and never put the paperwork through. Now my car is at the dealership with no estimate as of yet for repair and no loaner or coverage for a rental?

I am not sure about the extended warranty aspect, but the part and labor should be covered by the powertrain/battery warranty, as well as the recall itself. The loaner coverage would come under the recall.

I would suggest calling the dealer you purchased the warranty from to inquire about the paperwork submission.

I've called twice and they have only said they'll call me back. :(

Are they nearby? I would go there and speak to the manager. There's no reason they can't look up your VIN to see if the coverage has been added. And if it hasn't, they can add it.

Is it showing under the warranty section in the Ford pass app?

Looks like you purchased your vehicle used. Did it already have a ESP on it?

I purchased mine used as well. The original owner had a ESP plan on it. when I tried to purchase a new plan, the dealer couldn't add the new plan to the vehicle. I had to have the original owner go back to the dealer he purchased the vehicle from (and the ESP plan) and submit paperwork/fee to transfer the existing ESP to me. After that I could then purchase an different/longer ESP.

It's not. The only thing I have is the signed original copy from the dealership from the time of purchase. Doesn't seem to exist anywhere else.

Hmm. Who did you buy it from?

UPDATE: It was not the HVBJB. Turns out my errors were a powertrain failure and a parking break harness at the same time.

Still have this mystery warranty issue though...

Do you actually have the ESP contract you signed? Or are you just seeing a line item on your financing paperwork for that? There is a separate contract that should have the VIN of the car, and the options that were selected on the warranty.

It almost sounds like they charged you for that, but didn't actually do the paperwork for it.

yeah, the extended ford warranty showed up in my ford pass app within a few days of purchase. definitely would go back to where you purchased it.

but as others have said, the HVBJB should be covered even without the extended warranty due to the recall.

My extended warranty has never shown up in FordPass. At first I was concerned, but the dealership can “See“ the warranty in its system (and printed it for me). I put a copy in the glovebox and moved on to worrying about something else.

I actually bought a 21 mach e and purchased warranty, traded it, was credite the warranty which rolled into my 23. NEITHER of them showed up in fordpass as being covered under ESP, I actually did online chat with fordchat, they confirmed that I do have the coverage. I'd recommend contacting fordchat and see if they can verify it the, the fact that the dealer doesn't have it showing up makes me think something got lost in the mail. As my dealer did confirm the warranty.

This is what it seems like to me. I do have the original signed contract w/ VIN, dates coverage and dealer signature.

It almost seems like they took my money but never filed anything. I hope this doesn't turn into a small claims issue.
