NACS adaptor shipping to former owner

So I am stuck.
I bought my 22 GTPE from a dealership (a trade-in) in April. Went to try to order the adaptor from Ford and was told the order was going to be shipped to the original owner, since they ordered it before it was traded.

I have the other number and everything, but they cannot or will not change it to me. Since this is from a dealer, they did not give me the information of the original owner.

Did anyone have this issue as well? Would it be prudent to keep complaining, or will it be a waste of time?

If they ordered it before it was traded, they were entitled to it. Don't waste your time for $200. Just order an A2Z and call it a day.

If they ordered it before it was traded, they were entitled to it. Don't waste your time for $200. Just order an A2Z and call it a day.

As generaltso said, they are entitled to it.

And you are not the first person I read who posted about this issue. Nothing you can do. Either order 3rd party as suggested or live with what you have if not really needed.

If you're lucky, like me, you also have their previous trip info and can show up at their door.. remember that if you go to sell the car. It appears there's a separate DB of trips that's in the car NOT tied to your Fordpass app.

Would you really want that potential confrontation since all agreed the original owner has a right to it and a $177.30 simple solution is proposed?

That should all be erased with a Sync factory reset though. If you were able to see that someone did something wrong.

Simply do a factory reset of Sync before trading / selling.

I wouldn't want it, just stating it, for everyone to realize.

Simply do a factory reset of Sync before trading / selling.

Master reset didn't clear it, thrice.

I bought a used 2023 GT a couple of weeks ago and found myself in the same boat. Once I learned why I was unable to order one of the Ford adapters I just ordered one from Lectron.

Getting a free adapter had not factored into my decision to buy the car, so I don't look at it as something I am really entitled to. I don't expect Ford to hand out another adapter every time one of their EVs changes hands.

Or, if you're not in a hurry you can wait to order one from Ford Accessories where you can probably even use reward points to buy it.

How can I tell where it's shipping to? I, too, purchased used and it appears that the previous owner reserved the adapter, but it shows up on my account page...so I'm not sure where it will be delivered. How can I tell?
