My curiosity was sparked when someone in these pages mentioned that their dealer charged them $60 for a checkup, and then later on in another thread I saw the someone else had been charged $26. As the new owner of a used 2023 MME GT (which I bought from a Honda dealer) I thought that I would call a couple of Ford dealers here in the Pacific Northwest to see if there was a similar discrepancy in pricing. Surprisingly enough, the first dealer I called - the local one here in Lewis Co, WA. said "Have to check, will call you back" . They did in short order to tell me that there is no charge for the inspection and tire rotations. Of course, that sounds almost too good to be true. I still have 3 or 4 more dealers to call in neighboring cities.

Those of you who have taken their MME in for the inspection, how much were you charged? I'm talking about the checkups the schedule says to have done every 10,000 miles. These typically are listed as having these items to be performed:

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS AT YOUR 10,000 MILES CHECKUP
  • Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses and parking brake.
  • Inspect half-shaft boots.
  • Inspect steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tie-rod ends, drive shaft and U-joints. Lubricate if equipped with grease fittings.
  • Inspect the wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or drag.
  • Inspect tires and check tire pressures.
  • Perform multi-point inspection.
  • Rotate the tires, inspect tire wear and measure tread depth.
  • Inspect cooling system level and strength

$25 - I didn’t need tires rotated, but that didn’t change their quote.

First 10K I used Ford points. Second here in colorado springs they charged $89. I'm so mad that I told them I will go somewhere else the next checkup.
Now as per your item list, the inspections can be performed as tires are rotated. Neither of the dealers lubricated fittings. Dealers added some water to the cooling reservoir, but that should ALWAYS be a courtesy item. Also, neither dealer provided a list of checkup items although I asked.

I won't be going to a Ford dealer for 30K maintenance.

My Lightning was charged 23.00 at my local Ford dealer. I couldn't believe it!

First one was free, and second was $25, covered by Ford points. We bought replacement cabin air filters independently in part because we have had to replace ours more often on prior cars due to critters leaving acorns in the filter. ?

18K miles and I have rotated the tires 5 times in my driveway. I have not taken the car in for routine service since I inspected all of the other junk every time I rotated tires. Since I got new tires not long ago, I’ll be rotating again in the next 4 months. ??

But in answer to your question: I don’t know since I haven’t taken the car in for a 10K service. ?ā€ā™‚?
