As a purchaser of a 2021 Mach-E for gave owners a free 3 year triple care plus contract covering dings, windshield and tires. I had a nail in a tire, received pre-approval and a claim number. I submitted all paperwork, but never received reimbursement. I called about a month later and was told that the contract name is FLEET and not me personally. A check had been mailed to a PO Box and not to my address. I gave them my address information again (it was provided with the claim already) and was told a check would be re-issued. Another month or so went by and the process continued in circles. Today I call and I am told that I need to get the funds from the dealer. I asked which dealer and they couldn't tell me. Today they told me I can only use this policy at a dealer. I asked why was I not told that when I opened the claim. Then they backtracked that statement. After an hour of bouncing between claims and sales, I'm on hold while they are trying to "resolve" the issue. No one seems to know how to resolve this and there seems to be a flurry of misinformation. The amount of resources wasted on what should be a $31 claim is super frustrating. What good is a policy if I can't use it.

Sorry for the rant, but wondering if anyone has actually used this policy successfully? I have some dings I want addressed before the policy expires, but am not hopeful of getting any resolution from this.

I've never heard of this TripleCare - is this some sort of dealer addon kind of thing purchased during the sale? Because if it is, I'm not surprised it's a shitshow to deal with and it may not have been worth it to begin with.

EDIT: Just looked it up and definitely gives scammy dealer add-on vibes, even though it's an actual Ford offering. https://fordprotect.ford.com/triplecare

I honestly can't recall if it was offered to me or not (probably was) but if it was, I would have tossed it aside like most other trash "protection packages" dealers try to sell.

I figured this would happen given @Ford Motor Company's track record. im not planning on using mine at all. Its not worth the hassle.

@EssJayKay, I used mine successfully to have a minor door ding repaired. I just told the dealer I wanted it repaired through the triple care gift and they figured out how to bill it directly. (No reimbursement process was needed for this.)

On the other hand, I had some minor curb rash on one wheel and wanted that fixed... Turns out the wheel and tire coverage doesn't include cosmetic fixes so that wasn't covered. I opted to proceed anyway, for $75 (which I paid via FordPass points) and they did a decent job.

Sorry about your troubles with the tire repair... Sounds like a huge headache. My service advisor did mention that the gifted TripleCare that early Mach-E owners received was indeed entered in by Ford in some weird Fleet way. He had to call them to confirm how it works, and learn the limitations (e.g. no cosmetic coverage for wheels), etc.

Not something I would buy. This was a "gift" from Ford to owners for 2021 Mach-E's for being early adopters.

It was gratis and from Ford directly to 2021 owners but there were location restrictions so a lot, perhaps most, couldn’t or didn’t sign up for it. I no longer recall if it was for all 21s or just kob1s.

I had initially gone to the dealer to ask about dings and they had a hard time figuring it out as well. The claim I had was for a punctured tire. It seems like the issue is that I used a 3rd party facility and not a dealer. Apparently the check was mailed to the Claims Administrator who gifted the coverage and can't seem to figure out how to reimburse me even though I filed the claim. I will say the Administration department was helpful contacting the claims side directly with me on the line. I still don't have a resolution as yet, but at least someone seems to be trying.

Many times more than not, the paper is worth more as a recycled item than the "promise" typed on said paper.

I purchased a Prius back in 2015 with the paint protection "thrown in". Back then, Toyota gave a $5,000 credit to all new ones left on the lot. Many Dealerships would then add on a "paint protection" plan for $500 and you had to take that to purchase the car. I tried to get out of it (feeling it was a scam) but couldn't.

To make a long story short, I had some chips on the hood a couple years later and the Dealership used a bogus excuse of why they couldn't honor it.

I would have been better off to glue 500 $1 bills on my hood. :p

Never, ever buy that crap if it is offered and throw it away if it is "free".

I’ve used it multiple times for Tire and Windshield care successfully. I did get the Fleet message but it was resolved quickly. Sorry you’re having difficulties.

I've had no success using the gifted TripleCare we received as early Mach-E owners. My attempt to get dings removed has been a waste of time. Service Advisor couldn't find coverage for my car. He told me to ask a Collision center advisor to look it up. The collision center advisor said the service advisor has to find the coverage on a system called Oasis (acronym is different). Eventually the collision center advisor told me to contact their preferred third party ding vendor, they would look up the coverage and file the claim. I haven't tried contacting the ding vendor, if Ford dealer can't find the coverage on my car, not sure how a third party vendor would. Each advisor has asked me for a copy of the coverage certificate/contract, and we were never provided proof of coverage.

A gift from the CEO of Ford shouldn't lead to so much frustration.

I used the Triple Care for some door dings. I was referred to a 3rd party provider, who did fabulous work (even found a few small additional dings), and direct billed the insurer. No out of pocket cost to me (meaning I didn't need to get reimbursement). All worked well.

Back when FordPass showed warranty info, Triple Care showed up for my car. The last time I was at the dealer, I saw it in their system (Oasis?).

I used it for a tire replacement when my tire couldn't be patched. I took the car to a Ford dealership for tire replacement. No hassle at all. I forgot about Triple Care when I recently had to have a cracked windshield replaced. Would have loved to use that instead of going through insurance.

So how do you start a claim? I called the number in the PDF file, 1-800-321-7790. She asks for the last 8 digits of my VIN and my name, then says my name isn't the name on the contract. She suggested I contact the dealer to update the name on the contract then send updated information to her. I asked if the name on the contract was "Fleet" but then she asked what the last name was.
