Frunk. I won't consider a BEV that doesn't have a frunk. To me it is lazy engineering to leave out that obviously BEV unique feature.

Range is also critical to me, so if they stopped making them with the largest battery there is no way I could consider another. In fact, I want more range now.
I’m with you, Mike. Really fancied the new Ford Capri in UK but it’s a VW and they put the electric engine where the froot should be, then a MMe with a Heat pump but that takes up half the froot and the newer MMEs don’t have all that mine’s got so am sticking with what I got!

If it has a stalk shifter I'm out.
If it doesn't have overhead camera view I'm out

Two things that were standard when I bought my ā€˜22 Premium 4wd are now options: BC and mobile charger. If I have to pay for those in the future I’ll buy another EV

I don't care about either of those things.

It takes all kinds...

I actually hate the rotary shifter. Especially since it is where the volume and other controls are in my cx5 (wife's car). It took a few weeks to get used to the rotary shifter. Which direction to turn it. The fact it will go more clicks than there are options. When pulling into the garage I know I put it in park a few times thinking I was turning the volume down.

I would love a column shifter. In my opinion they should be out of the way in an EV. It's not like it is connected to anything physically. You also don't need it except to park or "unpark".

Yeah, I might be looking for a used 2024 GT with a metal roof when I decide to switch out my 2021. Not a fan of the column-mounted shifter. Then again I also hate the rotary shifter. The small frunk in the heat pump cars also has me not wanting one of those (actually a bigger consideration for me than the shifter). ??

With the discounts Ford just announced I'd be really tempted to get a 2024, except the 2024 doesn't come in Cyber Orange. So I guess that's my deal breaker.

I don't mind it too much, but I hate how far back they put it. I have to reach back at an odd angle to shift, and I don't know they didn't just put it forward where a normal shifter would be.

Remember when cell phones included a cable AND a plug? When USB-C became the standard, plugs stopped being included. In 2025 or 2026 when all new PHEVs and EVs have NACS, I see a charger becoming optional.

There are numerous threads along the lines of ā€œwhat features do you wish the Mustang Mach-E hadā€.

This one is the inverse. What current (and this includes features that have been decontented over the years such as metal scuff plates, door presenters, large frunk and so on) that, if Ford removed, would be a deal-breaker and absolutely send you to another brand?

oh, and making the vehicle ICE doesn’t count ?

It’s tough to come up with one deal-breaker, but I’d have to say the large sync screen. If Ford replaced that with a small screen or something else inferior, that would likely be the straw that sends me elsewhere.
The steel roof and available Thule roof rack was a major benefit.

A light duty hitch option for a bike rack would have been nice, but I can fit a single bike in the back.

Here is one deal maker for me really good Mach-E upgrade in design, more Mustang MACH-E look, stand out in crowd. Current design has run for 4 years and counting, time to upgrade the look.

Deal breaker, safety rating and performance, the Mach-E top end model should be really aggressively good and performs above average sport cars. realistically most of us don't buy those for daily driving, but the "halo effect" sells car!

In another 3 years my no interest loan will be paid off. I will be a hunk closer 90. I will probably look to see what cars offer the best and safest ADAS at that time, and if it is significantly better than what I have now I will switch.

Last year Consumer Reports rated the Ford and GM ADAS as the best, in part because of their excellence at assessing the driver's paying attention to the road. So the Lyriq and MME were the only two cars I was interested in.
