Update on 3FMTK4SXXNMA47660 - 6.14.0 was installed via OTA on Friday night. The 3rd OTA in a week! Today via FDRS installed the APIM which was only SW update showing on FDRS SW Update panel, which also invoked a GWM install.
On the GWM install, after the 10min wait before a full car power on with USB drive installed, the posted message on Sync display was "USB update already installed"..hhmmm.
As you have educated us, after any module update, check & clear the DTCs. This time a VDM had an active fault (wasn't there before starting the APIM/GWM)...
1742601068379-88.jpg

On running DTC "clear & reset", it would not clear. Tried twice more after a power off, driver door opened/closed, then again twice more "clear & resets". Took car for 10min drive, then tried again to "clear & reset". On the 2nd time, finally the VDM DTC cleared...yippee... I did note on later driving the MME GTP, the suspension seems smoother now in Normal mode, almost like Whisper mode...didn't think it was imagination?!
So I think you'll find that every GT VDM used to do this. Mine no longer does it. Not sure exactly what fixed it...but if you want that DTC to clear off, I can give you a tip that another member shared a while ago that seems to work.

While the car is running and FDRS is connected and showing the VDM DTC...select the drive mode page in Sync settings and step through each drive mode, and end up back at the drive mode you intend to use (I leave mine in Unbridle). Then in FDRS do a Clear and Retest. The VDM DTC should then go away.

If you're asking what that module does it's the car's Bluetooth module. So things like PAAK, wireless Carplay, etc.

Is that what you were asking?

Yes, thanks. Was a a lot of code updating in 48 parts. Five module P/Ns, assume ones updated, flash past on screen near the end.

Well that's the kind of thing that happens when 1) the tech quits before all the updates are done, 2) bails out on the IPMA because they didn't want to connect up a powersupply, or it was going to take too long to update, and 3) leaves your Sync version the same because the tech never did the gateway update that would have then led to the new APIM (Sync) update showing up as the next update to be performed.

Bottomline...this tech did all the items that don't take much time, and skipped everything else.

Here's what's left (also note the Additional Updates section...):

I guarantee you, this tech is one of the ones that doesn't realize that other people can see what they did or didn't do.

Good morning.

I have a brand new 2023 I purchased yesterday. The update screen says 'Not Completed' but then goes into 'If you recently received the 6.2.0 update...) Can I get my VIN checked for updates needed?

I appreciate it in advance!

You just got the car and there's an open FSA for "Customer Satisfaction Program 24P16". Kinda surprising they didn't do this before you drove it off the lot. It involves doing a diagnostic test on the 12V battery and replacing it if it fails the test. They didn't tell you anything about that? On second thought, they did a replacement of the 12V battery on the 5th of February, so that's probably why they haven't signed off on that yet.

On the 4th of March you had an APIM update that failed due to low 12V Battery (Priority Update 23-PU1103-NAT-VCE).

The previous, and successful, OTA was the GWM (gateway module) on the 11th of February (ECG-24.2.4.10).

The system says you do have updates set to automatic but that you haven't set a schedule up for the inhibit updates to take place. Might be a good idea to do that.

Here's the list of updates available in FDRS for your VIN:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others 3FMTK4SX3PMA81958-23-Mar-25

This also serves to provide clues as to what OTAs you should expect to see. Once you get that OTA for the APIM (Sync), which should be Priority Update 23-PU1103-NAT-VCE then you can expect (looking at the Additional Updates section) to see an IPC update, and once that's done a TCU update, etc. until you're caught up. There will likely be other things show up as well, like the CMR, IPMA/PSCM and powertrain, but we need to see that APIM and then the IPC show up really before anything else will happen. I can tell you that once all these updates are done the car will likely exhibit zero drivability issues at all. Mine works great, no complaints at all.

WOW, thank you so much for this. I truly appreciate the time you took to look this up and provide the detailed information!

I did ask if there were any recalls or anything I should be aware of, and they said no ?. One of my biggest concerns is that it sat out on the lot for awhile. The sales guy was nice though and did provide me with a NACS adapter which I was happy about.

Curious about available updates.
Also wondering if I’m still getting charge port overheating DTCs.

Thanks

No module updates were performed. It looks like the tech was just checking things.

Hi Again Mike.
Received the IPMA-DC-24.204.8.27 update on March 20, 2025.
When convenient could you check what is showing up in FDRS now.
Thanks

Good morning, Mike G:

Reading the error codes on my MME, I see only the following:

RFA U200E: 15: 48 Control Module Output Power B

No other DTCs.

But I delete it, and it doesn't reappear for a few days. Nothing's wrong. I've checked everything. The PAAK is working fine. Everything seems to work properly.

I notice many cars show this specific DTC and/or other retaled in.

I think it might be a software version not so good or a configuration issue.

What do you think?

Let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Mach-E Premium AWD 2023
Hi all,

I've got a 2023 AWD, and am having lots of issues with Ionity in the UK - it starts to charge fine, but then stops (as in the car thinks the charger has stopped) and I can just unplug and go again.
Only seems to happen on Ionity, but my other DC charger access is limited.

Would anyone be kind enough to check WF0TR3SU9PMA15250 for me and see if it needs any charging updates?

Thanks!
