I started educating my dealer on Options after I placed the order so there are no surprises. I made them do some homework.
ugh, i should've done this.

i mentioned in my email to them 1 month ago i was interested. and did so again yesterday when they notified me the car had arrived. am supposed to pick up the car tonight. the "mach-e person" who is basically an assistant to the internet sales person, just emailed (1 hour before our appointment) to say "our system is still being set up for the process of ford options but that normal financing options are available. or you can come in sometime next week when our system is up and running"

WTF?!

ugh, can dealers stop shooting themselves in the foot? how busy are they that they can't just read the material sent to them from ford or even scan the website of a new product that they know is coming...

this is the price of being an early adopter i guess, and being one of the 1st mach-e customers, but this is pretty damn annoying when i gave them plenty of warning!

don't really want to wait a week... i don't really plan to buy the car at the end of 3 years anyways, so maybe RCL isn't so bad...

Thanks @ARK & @jhalkias. I have been worried about the tech changes that will undoubtedly be coming. Had decided to just hope for the best. However, four years seems about right on the options. Maybe I will do the same. God, I hate name "Balloon Payment". It just sounds like it is going to get bigger and bigger. I digress.

If I get bigger milage, does the balloon note go down, since I am paying more per month?
Yes. You can do an estimate on the Ford Mach E site with the calculator and take “air” out of the balloon.

the instant I learn my car has shipped, I'm sending a text to my salesperson "make sure the finance guy knows about Ford Options - not just RCL or traditional loan"

and I'll include the document references @hybrid2bev posted somewhere as soon as I can find them :)

Haha. Yeah been doing that. Now leaning toward options in case ford screws the pooch on Android or solid state batteries jump to the fore. I was thinking 3 years but more likely to hit updates on tech in 4 years.

so after an angry email, they replied asking to push back the appointment 30min and they will try to their “system up and running” whatever that means.

and yup i emailed that options document from hybrid2ev to them yesterday when i got confirmation of receipt. so they could’ve worked on it yesterday.

we’ll see if it works out tonight...

Sounds like they want you to release the order so they can add ADM and sell to someone else. I believe dealers were limited on how many stock units they could order for themselves initially. Best way to make profit as a dealer on the MME is ADM. Frustrate you enough and you might walk away from it.

Or maybe I'm just jaded and cynical.

Oops. You caught my misspelling (or the mis-autocorrect). Yes, Columbia.
Lived in Columbia for a few years in the 80s.....still remember all the odd street names - apparently there as rule about using common names like Elm, Oak, Main St. I lived on Faulkner Ridge Circle and Weather Worn Way.

Who is doing the PPF and the Brand? I keep getting told that "We don't have the Templates for the PPF"... ugg
Called my local XPEL installer today and they still do not have a template for MME.

I recall there's someone from Texas who lives near their HQ and is taking his car to them for the measurements to send out the templates. Unfortunately, his isn't the first car!

And it has been delayed to 3/18-3/24. Still in Mexico according to the dealer. Just sitting around, drinking some margaritas and working on the pre-PPF tan.

The VIN is 3FMTK3SU9MMA10372 if you want to track it but what the dealer told me does not match with the Ford Tracker or the tracker on this forum.

I believe from what @hybrid2bev posted on another thread, if you go with the lease, you basically get a bit over $5,000 from the federal tax credit built into the lease, but yes, not the full amount as you do with options.

Correct. Built into the residual value. Not lease cash

Question about Ford options. Is the sales tax figured in to the payment? If so is the amount based on the purchase price minus the balloon payment? Or the total MSRP of the car?
Thanks,

I just sent my dealer a friendly email asking if they are familiar with Ford Options. Figure I will send the attachment when they tell me there is no such thing...

My eta is mid March, so hope I have enough runway to get them up to speed. Same with the active drive assist incentive...
