What you need is the hardware sensor module (and I think two sensors under the bumper cover but less clear about this). That module was in my car just not enabled.

I found the info here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...ands-free-liftgate-back-to-2022-mach-e.16407/

And back in post #1,173, @connoisseurr posted the module was on his car and that we should have it too.

When you go to that DIY post you see a picture where he has dropped the whole black shroud attached to the rear bumper. You don't need to do that. There are two little access panels held on with three hex head screws. Take the left one off. Then you can get a camera up there to look. I simply held my phone up in the hole and took several pictures are at various angles and spotted it. Then quickly ordered a cable off of Amazon. I used the $35 vLinker USB cable that is posted on the Forscan web page as a recommended interface.

I wouldn't even go through all that. Just try to activate it in Forscan. If it works, great! If not, revert your as-built code. It'll take more time checking for the module than it will to do the changes.

You are probably right about time when you know what you are doing. But, it was three screws and my tools are right in the garage. Plus, I wanted to know first whether it was worth ordering the USB interface. If I didn't spot the module then no need to spend the money.

Ok, a few more thoughts after 10 days of owning the car.

Has anyone else been stopped every time you get out of the car by someone asking, "Is that the Mach-E? How is it?"

I've gotten the 5 min pitch down now and the quick tour. @Ford Motor Company , I expect money for this free advertising Lol

Hmm, the latest info from Ford Chat - "As of this time I see this vehicle is in transit on a hold."

I asked if they had a location, and they said it's in Elkhart, IN. That's about 2 hours from my dealer so I'm assuming the train is done and they're waiting for a truck? Estimate is still 6/19 - almost 3 weeks to make it 2 hours down the road is wild.

Can I hire a flatbed truck to bring it to the dealer myself?

In my short time of ownership, I’ve had two encounters. One at the grocery parking lot… guy was staring blatantly as I drove in to park. He walked over as I was getting out of the car and asked if it was a “Mustang Crossover.” I told him what it was; he’d never even heard of them but told me the car was beautiful.

Another instance I’d parked right in front of my local Gastropub for lunch, and as a group of three people were coming towards the entrance, on of them was just STARING the car. Went up to it to check it out.

I don’t mind. Nobody EVER came up to ask me about my 1980 Datsun 510 wagon!

Car made it to Petersburg, VA and now waiting on United Road to transport it to dealership. Hopefully not much longer. ? -UPDATE - Ford Chat ETA has finally caught up with what NS customer service says, but it still says Jun 21-27, 2022 ETD. God I hope not ...for it to go the 100 miles to Ashland, from Petersburg Vehicle Distribution Railyard. Man, I know patience is a virtue but mine is wearing thin at this point.

It is remarkable how similar our waits continue to be. We both are at the "rail is done, last 100 miles to be trucked" portion of our wait.

Our "last to get our car" race is rounding the final corner! I hope it's a tie, and it's this week!

I'm at the same stage: waiting on a truck since 5/7.?

Oh that makes me sad... and scared - if I have another 4+ weeks to wait for a truck like you, yikes!

I genuinely would pay for a flatbed to bring my car the last 100 miles rather than wait for Ford to figure it out - I'm not joking.
