2023 Mach-E Feature Wishlist

Ford: I hope your UX team is listening.

I really would like to see Macro modes added for all Mach E models.

Ideally the icon of my car in the correct style and color for the MME logo on the top of the screen.

My 4 Macro buttons that are all one touch activated are for example:

Camera
Phone
Car Play
Radio

If there was a 5th (that there is room for) I would add a lift gate button that is locked out unless in park.

Alexa could/should be one of the optional macro buttons (I eliminated that for this mockup).

This should be a relatively simple add to the existing UI (I know nothing is "simple") that would appear via OTA upgrade, or it can be added to the next UI that is in development.

I did a super crude mockup of what I am trying to describe.

This space is otherwise wasted and we really need some single touch buttons.

Macro buttons would imply buttons you can program to do a series of actions from one tap. This sounds more like shortcuts/user defined buttons. Although, considering we already have app tiles to open the Phone, Car Play/Android Auto and the Radio, perhaps you do want macros that could be programmed actions such as Start the radio on preset # or dial the phone to contact X.

The main two buttons I want are:

the CarPlay button
Camera

without having to press two buttons to get either one.

Once they are doing those, that space might as well be used.

I will try the tile for CarPlay, but it is not always there...and there really should be a camera one touch button that is always there. Although you can get to everything you may need in two clicks, you almost always have to click two times to get anything done.

- A/C recirculate button that does not disable when it wants to. I hate smelling rotten eggs or gas while commuting.
- Walk Away lock with stored location to disable functionality. IE: Don't lock at home

- 1-press buttons on main screen for Cameras and Trunk
- Tilt side mirror on reverse

I would also like to see for cars that have Magneride, is a way to adjust the ride stiffness independently of the drive mode the car is in.

Bonus QoL:
One pedal drive button, I like it on 90% of the time, but in Michigan going a few miles in one direction can go from fairly dry roads to decent snow cover. Not having to dig through menus to turn off one pedal would just be fantastic.

- A steering wheel that tilts down further and telescopes closer to the driver

- Revised dampers so the car doesn't drive like it's on a trampoline

- Dog mode and/or ability to turn off interior motion sensors

- Full screen android auto

- More color variety.... how about a dark green, dark blue and dark orange.

- Frunk button on keyfob

My only gripe so far (after only having my MME for a few days) is the lack of a handy camera button on the main screen somewhere to help me line up for parking.

I used the camera button all the time on my last car to help me part in tight spots. Having to navigate two or three buttons means hanging out in the lane for longer than is necessary.

This should be a software only change, and could be applied to every model year Mach-E.

I also really love the macro button suggestion @Larry Paul posted. That would be such a handy addition to the main user experience!

Now that the 2023 Production and Ordering Dates have been released, what do you hope they add, add back, and/or remove in the 2023 model?

I'd love to see:

• Updates to battery tech for faster DC charging
• Weight reduction for more range
• Add back the kick-to-lift liftgate
• Ventilated seats
• Heads-up Display
• Rotating display (like in the Fisker Ocean)
• Updated steering wheel design unique to the Mach-E
• Adjustments to the cargo cover (it pops off too easily if you have something tall in the trunk)
• 12v battery access with pop-off covers
• Mud flaps

Ditto on adding the kick-to-lift tailgate
Electric steering wheel adjustment and not manual
120v AC outlet
Electric closing front hood
Move rear wiper to top (hidden)
Remove the 5 secs of acceleration limiter
Remove power on & off button and make it turn on automatically when you get in the car (as long as you have either the fob or your phone) and have it turn off after a settable timer after either locking the vehicle or leaving it

My commute is through the Styx. A good portion of the year it's dark as heck driving past all those corn fields, morning and evening.

So, as I've said on other similar threads, I just want a reliable Livestock Sensor.

Coming from the EV6, these are the things I miss that would be awesome in the MME:

• Multiple levels of brake regeneration with paddle shifters to adjust them
• Ongoing display of charging info while in progress (power levels, etc.)
• Ability to preset max charging level default to AC and DC chargers
• A sturdy cargo cover that's not attached to the liftgate
• Hard liftgate button in cabin

I want a "close and lock" button on the tailgate. Sure, you can hit close, walk around to the side and hit one of the lock buttons... but there's no feedback that it's going to lock until the tailgate finishes closing... so either you stand around waiting or you walk off and hope it didn't pick this time to ignore you.
