This is just Sunday morning speculation Chris, but I don't think the PTS system would have removed all record of the 22S41 recall campaign if they just were going to make a software tweak.I still don't believe Ford will proactively replace the hardware. They are probably just tuning the software parameters to reduce false positives and a new version will be in FDRS soon. The new version will be tested on the road by the early adopters and so on.
The thing I am curious about is what instructions will be given to the dealers regarding addressing the DTC. I am worried that "clear the code and the car is ok if it doesn't come back immediately" will become the official service procedure.
