240v charging suddenly not working?

I am one of the many in Illinois who were hit with the "power is too dirty to charge" earlier in the year. Ford put out a patch and since then we've been happily charging on our hard wired in ChargePoint Home Flex.

On the morning of Dec 16th, my wife went to run an errand, came back, plugged in and it charged. That afternoon (and since then) when we plug in, we're getting "Plugged in, not charging" from the app. I can't find any obvious cause because nothing changed between the morning charge and afternoon charge.

2 questions for everyone:

1) What should I be looking at that I'm not thinking about and...
2) Anyone else seeing this? (Especially IL folks?)

That message can indicate several things, including that the ChargePoint HomeFlex isn't sending the car anything. Have you checked your ChargePoint app to ensure that it's set to provide charging during those hours and that it is ready to go?

Have you checked to see if your car is set to charge, that it's not confused that it's "at home"?

I don't suppose you have a NEMA 14-50 outlet you can test the Ford Mobile Charger with? That would at least rule out the charger instead of the car.

I would suggest you, or the Electrician that installed your outlet/charger, check torque on all connections to make sure everything is tight.

There was a windstorm 2 days ago that is making me worried about that...

Yep, both of those are good. The ChargePoint isn't showing any errors and is all blue like its connected.

I didn't think about it not thinking about it being home, but looking at Charging location, the mustang is showing my home address.

We did have a pretty serious windstorm, I could see ComEd doing repairs mucking up the power.

Yes, electrical connections can come loose.

Something similar happened to me too, a pair of wires in some random outlet hadn’t been tied all that well when the electrician worked on it. Over a year later, half the house suddenly lost power. Took the electrician hours to move through the house checking each outlet before they saw it, figured out what it was, and simply tightened the connection.

Yes, electrical connections can come loose.

It would be a good idea to check ALL terminal lugs and circuit breaker lugs when they have the deadfront off.... loose connections can cause arcing; 'dirty power', and fires.

one of the biggest 'dangers' of DIY or non-permitted/inspected Electrical work is loose connections... especially in circuits that carry heavy current for hours at a time and heat up and then cool down.

EV charge circuits, and Solar PV backfeed circuits are important to check once in a while even if installed by a professional.

I had my Charge Point installation inspected and approved today by the township. NOW if I only had the car. Lol..?
I would never do my own electrical work. I just dont have the knack for it.

First question I have is did you try and charge the car using a Level 1 or 120 Volt charger?
