Mine was originally 4/25 and was pushed to 5/25 the last week of April. Tracking shows it is in Kansas. Still waiting semi-patiently.

I reached out yesterday through Ford Chat and got this update:

It is currently in transit. Per the last update on May 2nd, it was in Birmingham, AL. There is no transit company or railcar information available. It is estimated to be delivered by May 16th.

Order Track had the car in KS on April 25th, so I think this is an improvement? Any idea how concerned should I be that there is no transit company or rail car info available?

Edit: Order Track just changed the status from In Transit to Delivered, although it is still showing KS as the destination. It's been In Transit for seemingly ever. Perhaps a positive sign. Still showing "Shipped" on the Ford tracker page.

Car has arrived!

Dealer said all price protections are in place and that I can come in tomorrow to pick it up. Also said that I have to finance through them but that it should all take less than 2 hours and that I can refinance with my preferred bank afterwards. I'll report back on how it goes.

Does anyone know how long these cars sit at the ports for? According to NSR, my car is in "actual placement" in Port Newark as of last night. Was sitting on the ramp for about a week prior. Ford Chat tells me it's still in KS but records haven't been updated since 4/30. Estimated delivery was pushed back from 4/22 to 5/23-29th. So close yet so far!

I guess the one thing I can say about the buying experience is that it was relatively quick - 30 minutes in the finance office. We were forced to use their financing and the best rate they could get was 3.16%. Our credit union was giving 2.99%, so we'll be refinancing asap. I will say it was eye opening that they allowed me to simply use my $1000 deposit as my only money down and finance the remaining $57k. No wonder people can get upside down and in trouble so easily!

In the office, the cost was incorrect as they had the SecureEtch on the form even though we'd talked about it last year and I reminded my salesperson on Thursday that it wasn't to be included. They took the charge off, but it's unclear if they actually did the etching or not (doesn't bother me either way, I just didn't want to pay for it). They also swear that I'll be getting the price protection, but will only mail me a check after they get it in about 45 days. So right now I've financed about $2k more than I should have. Again - annoying.

I'll touch base with my credit union on Monday and report back what the actual process for refinancing looks like. I think I have to wait for a week or two for the original bank to get all the terms, but I should be out before the first payment is due. I'll report back with what happens.

Oh - and the car is really, really cool.

Received the dreaded delay email from Ford — timing went from 5/3-5/9 to 6/6-6/12. Anyone else have theirs pushed back again?

The moment I thought I evaded inevitably arrived. Car arrived in CA this morning, then Ford emailed me saying delivery is pushed back from 5/13-19 to 6/10-16. The rail yard is 30 min away from the dealer….NO WAY can this be true.

It took 5 or 6 days for my car to get from the rail yard to my dealer in Orange county so hopefully you follow that timeline

My turn has happened. I was able to pick up my GTP in Iced Blue Silver Metallic yesterday. Details are below of my process.

Ordered- 8/13/2021
Dealer- North Bay Ford, Santa Cruz, CA
Build Week- 3/7/2022
Built- 3/11/2022
Shipped 3/14/2022
Arrived at Dealer- 5/18/2022
Purchase completed- 5/20/2022.

Kyle at North Bay Ford made the deal extremely easy. Did not try and up charge me. The process of ordering one of these cars as we all know is brutal. I was very nervous reading the stories on this forum that my dealer would try to pull tricks. I was very happy to find that I had none of the unfortunate experience that so many of our fellow posters have experienced.

My car was damaged during shipping. A dent occurred on the hatch. The dealer did a great job getting the dent out but unfortunately a crease appeared in the bottom of the hatch. Due to my color choice it is hardly noticeable. North Bay Ford has already ordered me a new hatch. The parts are back ordered for 2 months. Not the best way to take delivery after such a long wait. Mistakes happen and the dealer is doing what I feel is the right thing in installing a whole new part. They could have tried to hide it from me to find later so they could deny responsibility. They were upfront and honest and are taking care of it. All wins in my book. I feel very lucky to have found an honest dealer after reading some of the stories on this forum.

Best advice that I feel I have received so far is to be careful on the first heavy acceleration petal push. This GTP feels like a rocket and I haven't gotten close to flooring it.

Worth the wait!
