Got my first update from VIN View - it basically confirms what the salesperson and I saw yesterday (that it had been moved over to 6U from 6R). Here's most of the text of the update:

I tried going to www.freightverify.com (the tracking service provider), clicked on "Get Started Today", and filled out the form and checked the box "I recently bought a new vehicle and want to learn about its location", but haven't received any response yet. It seems like from the text of that option that it's possible and worth a try. Will post if I get a reply.

I unfortunately won't have more updates on my car. Polestar had the spec I wanted and even with loss of tax credit the prices came out close enough to make the switch, little less up front, little more if I buy out the lease. I also just have a soft spot for the P2 so little sad to not be getting the Mach-e but excited for the Polestar in a few days.

Interesting thanks. That looks like a lead generation web form for companies to demo their service, but we'll see if they do help individual users that will surely not be a customer to them. Seems unlikely.

Maybe you should indicate in that last column whether the car is pre or post Ramp 6R (if known) since that seems to be a major stuck point for so many.

I just checked with Ford chat - I’m out of the Ramp 6R wasteland! Just shipped today, Union Pacific! Still have a 11/27-12/3 updated ETA, but I’m hopeful it will beat that now that I’m out of MachE delivery hell!

How do I tell if my car is pre or post ramp 6R?

Your dealer may provide it from a Vehicle Visibility Report (old tracking system) or from VINView (new tracking system that just went online last week). You can also try chatting with Ford on their web site - you'll need your VIN for that. Just tell them you'd like them to check for a precise location and a railcar #.

So it does look like the updates are working. We'll see what kind of updates I get when it starts moving west. There also appears to be some kind of data processing happening between the GPS location and the VINView system as we saw the car at 6U yesterday, well before 7:34am today as this update indicates - in other words, VINView doesn't seem to just send raw location data from the cellular GPS when it moves, rather it takes the raw GPS data and does some extra processing before packing it up into an update.

Just chatted with Ford, info was updated and confirmed the VINView update above. I was also able to get the transport provider (Union Pacific) and the railcar #, so then I called the Union Pacific number to get an update from them. It came back as follows:
* Loaded, released from Industry 10/31 1:01p, Est Arrival 11/7 4:00a
From that it would seem that the car is either on it's way or will be shortly. The end of the line last time was near Salt Lake City, which is about 6 hours away by truck. The next possible hurdle for me will be how long it sits in the railyard near SLC - last time they started to move my car about 8 days later, but then couldn't because the car wouldn't start (turned out to be a battery issue, maybe from being left on). Anyway it got fixed and loaded on to a truck 4 days later.

Doing some math, it could make it to my dealer in about 2 weeks barring a breakdown or other issue. That would be a week ahead of the front of my current ETA window of 11/21-26/2022.

Hopefully more updates are coming from VINView as well.

Yeah, the majority of cars are delivered within 60-70 days it looks like but some people have to wait much longer it seems. Leaving ramp 6R aging area is key

I just got this from Ford Chat:

"I show your 2022 Mustang Mach-e - VIN 3FMTK3SU1NMA50172 is In Transit. The vehicle location is Ramp 6U, Muncie, KS. The estimated arrival date to the dealer is Nov-29-2022. The Railcar # is KCS 008283 (Kansas City Southern Railway Co )."

Perhaps there is hope for those of us in the West after all?

I filled out the web form also. Used my business name. I will update if anything materializes.
