All, I noticed strange AC charging behavior just in the last week with my MME Premium '23 (received May 2022). There are two strange behaviors:
1. The car is charging for much longer than it used to before getting to the target 80% charge -- for example, the FordPass app is reporting that it has consumed ridiculous amounts of electricity (for example 70 kWh consumed while charging from 57% to 76%). I am assuming this is a calculation problem and that the car is not actually pulling that much electricity (but can't know for sure as I have a dumb EVSE).
2. Sometimes during these extended charging sessions, the FordPass app is reporting that the car is only pulling half the kW that I would expect -- almost as if it is failing over from 240 volt charging to only 120 volt. Annoyingly, with the Ford being the only EV we own that doesn't show the kW rate of charge anywhere in the car (also have a Tesla and a Kia, both of which show the instantaneous charge kW) -- so this is also difficult to verify.

I am also suspecting this is a new software issue introduced with one of the recent OTA updates since it appeared suddenly -- Is anyone else seeing these issues?

Thanks for any advice!
After I got PowerUp 6.8, most of the charging data in FordPass is garbage. I charged last night from 50 to 85% and the app shows I added 92.1 kWh and 24 miles. ??‍♂

Did you happen to receive power up 6.6?

1. L2 charging speed recently dropped 33%

2. FordPass 4.31 now available

While you are charging, look for charging details on fordpass and it will show how many kw your car is taking. No calculation required. Mine runs at 10.

So are you on a 48 amp setup? My 40 amp charges at 8kw and the ford portable I used with my first mach e charged at 6 kw.

Just got 6.13. Got 6.3 last week, but none of the updates between 6.3 and 6.13. I have a 2023.5 with Bluecruise 1.3, so maybe I didn't need those updates, or the updates are not coming in order. It is installing now. I will test the charging later tonight.
UPDATE: 6.13 did not resolve the charging issue.

I'm cautiously optimistic the OTA will be out in January. Fingers crossed

So interesting. Charged tonight as I always do. This time when it reached my charging threshold of 85% in addition to getting the notification in fordpass that charge was complete. For the first time in fordpass it said "charge level reached desired" (words to that effect). But going out to he garage the charger was still clearly running, humming sound and blue light by the charge port. The problem with that, the "stop charging" icon disappeared in fordpass and no way to turn off charging so I had to just unplug which I always hate doing.

I don't know what's to explain this change.

Just got a 23.5 year GT yesterday and believe I’m having the exact same issue. The car has been making a lot of noise (cooling pump/fans?) despite the fact that our garage is about 40 degrees throughout the charge cycle. Seems unnecessary to be running the cooling system for the temperature of the garage? I’m using the Ford mobile charger at 120V. Charged to my 85% threshold and FordPass indicates it is still drawing power after reaching the threshold.

Yep that's the issue we're experiencing, fingers crossed the OTA update to fix will be out soon, It seems to be all 23s and a great many seem to be 23.5s

I have a different issue right now that is causing L2 charging issues in cold weather. The car starts/stops charging on L2 every 10 seconds trying to initiate a charge. It mostly fails but occasionally sorts itself and charges. (It’s a different issue that I am working with Ford on and bringing to the dealer after the holidays). A workaround that I recently found for this through trial and error was to plug the car into 120V L1 charge on the Ford mobile charger which immediately starts charging the car without any issues, leave it for a few minutes, and then switch to the L2 juicebox charger which immediately then starts charging at the higher rate. Somehow it primes the car to accept the L2 charge, I don’t know why, and it only happens when it is cold. (Below 50F outside) I have a 22 extended AWD that is garage stored.

Point of this story relevant to this post, though, is that when I plug in the 120V I notice that I hear the fans turn on and liquid moving around in the battery within minutes. It continues to do this while it is on the 120V charge. I haven’t left it on long term but I did observe it for a solid 10+ minutes. In my garage it’s at least 50F so not sure why it is doing this. It’s also right after I drove the car for 45 minutes so I would think that battery would be warm by that point and not need it, but I’m no expert. As soon as I move the car to the L2 charge, the liquid and fan noises stop. It made me think that the L1 charging was warming the battery enough to accept the L2 charge which was a workaround for my issue, but I found it odd that only L1 triggered that behavior. Wondering if the issue that people are experiencing is related to some bug only to L1 charging and may affect other MYs?

I've got a 23 and haven't noticed anything different while charging with my 48 amp charger. Got 6.13 yesterday.

I really hope so. I applaud you all for living with this for months. Majorly disappointing experience for day 1 with a new car. Do you think it’s worth letting Ford know about? I wonder if they use a case list to target the update or if they will internally know the impacted VINs.

Edit: if I do get in contact with the BEV team is there a case/issue number that I should share with them?

Yes. I think we have all been referencing case number CAS45431676.

I don't have the same issue as you but a few days ago I had my charge max in FP set to 85% max and it stopped ok at 85%. I left it plugged in and to my surprise 8 hrs later my charger started again and charged to 100%. It was all recorded on my JB app history. I had just received the 6.6.0 Power Up update the day before but do not know if that had anything to do with the glitch. I've been getting the 6.x.0 series of updates every few days now. I just got the 6.7.0 update which included the frunk open from FP.

Back to your issue. Could you have stopped the charging from your JB app or would the Ford software override that? Don't you just love software. ?
