Not sure if I'm going crazy or if that sticker in the wheel well was the issue but my rattle seems to have gone away after I removed the sticker.
I think you're crazy ?

And I think you've been talking to @GoGoGadgetMachE behind the sceens.

Jokes aside, I removed the sticker as well and I still got the noise yesterday when testing in the cross winds. Now I'm going to go look if there's a sticker I missed.

Maybe you have gremlins. I do not mean the Joe Dante Movie Gremlins. I mean the folktale gremlins. "A Gremlin is a mythological creature similiar to a fairy or goblin which had their origins during the World Wars, in which they were said to cause havoc on aircraft "

Probably, I'll need to do some more high speed testing... you know.. for science!

oh good, because sometimes I need to charge after midnight or drive in the rain.
I was told never to drive in the rain ... you know electricity + water = bad

This thread has taken a nose dive ... so how about someone who doesn't have a GT/GTPE popping open that frunk and testing the noise for me? Tap on the plastic liner and see if it makes noise against the hood metal...

I'm not quite ready to accept aliens or gremlins as the answer yet!

Also, today we had no wind, but a couple semi's passed me on the 2 lane highway and even with the stickers removed from the springs I still got some rattle as their "winds" hit me. @bdot we'll have to see if you get noises again.

My GT I just picked up today is doing the same thing. I removed the under hood tray and applied foam tape all around it and it did not resolve, though that tray definitely has no rattle to it now.

I believe the rattle lies more with the plastic covers around the Frunk. I'll try removing them and applying foam to snap points to see if that helps.

Well thank you for doing that. I was going to this weekend so you beat me to it. I'll look elsewhere as well this weekend and we'll all keep each other updated.

I appreciate all the help from everyone. We all want this damn noise to go away!

Give this a try. I taped the following locations and the test drive after had no noise...but the wind also had died down.

I added one additional long strip on the front since that was still rattling if I tapped the plastic.

I will do that tonight. Unfortunately we don't have any wind until Sunday so I might not have results until then. But on Sunday we are set to get 20mph winds so a good day for testing.

I decided to just keep that cover off for testing. That will confirm or deny it easily. It's just for looks anyway.

Lastly, congrats @Scooby24 on your new car!

@Scooby24 --

After removing that cover and driving all day today I can report that the noise with a 10mph cross wind is gone.

HOWEVER - I now have a different rattle (albeit with the cover removed) that happens when the road is bumpy. It's similar to the other noise, much more muted and not nearly as annoying. I assume that this new sound is coming from the fact that I have completely removed that huge piece of plastic. and the side pieces aren't as secure. I'm not too worried about this new rattle because it appears to be causation of the removal of the plastic.

I will continue to test it out, but this seems very promising!

For anyone else who wants to test this out please do. The plastic piece is removed just like any interior trim piece and just has the annoying "pull really hard until it sounds like it broke" plastic clips.

Nice...I did put two more pieces of foam under the plastic surrounding the frunk on top of the strut tower bar as the frunk plastic rattles on it without the top trim piece holding it all together. I bet that's what's happening. We are just having plastic vibrate that resonates into the cabin.

One last update...take your fingers and just tap them along that upper trim piece and you'll hear where it's rattling. Last rattle I could find was at the upper most part by the windshield. Placed a few pieces of foam right along the edge of the trim and now tapping all over it simulating vibration results in zero noise.

Ford could probably resolve this with 4 well placed felt pads on the trim pieces.

New locations noted in yellow.

@DevSecOps Yeah a loose trim clip is definitely a possibility, but then I'd think it would rattle when going over bumpy roads at lower speeds. At low speeds, I don't hear it, but if I'm on a smooth road going above 60mph I'll start to hear it.
exactly the same with my GT, only hear it at about 40-50 MPH+ and not when going over any bumps. My buddy thinks it may be the vents on the front to cool the batteries moving since they are not "tight" when closed.

I don't think it's the louvers as that's just too far from the source sounds. Although anything is possible!

So far I think we might have isolated it if you read the last couple posts of this thread. Try popping the frunk and removing the plastic housing in the pictures above. Drive without it a couple days and if goes away apply foam tape as shown here by @Scooby24

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/cross-wind-rattle-anyone-else.10275/post-265920

The more people we have testing this the more we can be sure we've isolated the issue.
