The update is for job 1 (i.e. roughly first half 2021) vehicles.

Vehicles ship with the most current validated configuration.

My Select was built 7/21 according to my door tag (so not Job 1), sat in Mexico for 3 Months before being shipped / got to my dealer in early Nov.

I clearly do not have the updated charging curve mine falls off a cliff at 80% like before. I contacted my dealer and they aren't showing any updates for my vehicle.

Exactly as it should be. The courtesy update is for Job 1 vehicles.

But you said newer vehicles will be shipped with the latest updates. I would assume that would be Job 2 vehicles.

Your vehicle was shipped with the updates that were in existence when it was manufactured.

Made a service appt for vibration while braking and asked for the CSP 21P22 "Software Calibration Update" and TSB 21-2310 "Various Sync4 Concerns" to be done while the car was there. Car updated with CSP fine. Brake vibration fixed. TSB 21-2310 not done.

Details:
I had my front brake pads replaced on TSB 21-2206 on Sep 22. Use one pedal, so didn't notice vibration through the steering column when braking between 45 - 55 mph until recently. They said they resurfaced the rotors last time but either they did not do it or did a poor job, so I made a service appt for yesterday Dec 8. Asked for the software updates while it was there.

Dropped car off at 7AM, got text from service manager at 3PM saying they haven't got to my car yet and could they keep it overnight? Typical, I waited two weeks for the appt but they can't do the work on the day of the appt.

Work was finished today, Dec 9. Tech reports front rotors warped. Resurfaced rotors. Road test OK. I confirmed vibration is gone.

Tech reports reprogrammed PCM, ABS, BCMC, BECMB, SOBDM, SOBDMB, SOBDMC, BCM, OBCC, DCME, DCMF, DCMG, DCMH, RFA per recall (yes, they called it "Recall 21P22 Software Calibration Update"). This looks like all the updates it needed (and then some) in FDRS listing @DevSecOps kindly provided for me a month ago, except for GSM, IPMA, and APIM. Last two may be Sync software but GSM should've been updated??

Even though the work order states "update on Sync system 21-2310", this was not done. Not mentioned by tech in paper work. I asked the Service Manager about the TSB update in a text exchange before I picked up the car and he said it was included. I let him know after I picked up the car that it was not.

Needless to say, I am not filled with confidence by my service experience or with the attention to detail of the Service Manager. I do not trust them to do the work correctly (brakes) or even do the work (TSB), if I do not keep on them every second. Plus, they had my car for two days and I was not offered a rental or loaner.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. I'm just looking forward to seeing an uninterrupted session and seeing what the curve looks like as well as how long it takes now since your session has several interruptions as you worked to get the 150+kW to show up.
I highly doubt the curve has changed for <80%. I've performed several charges since then, and the behaviour is essentially the same. The only reason mine might be slower is because of the cold battery at the start, but the battery warmed up not long into the charging session. Above 80%, it now takes about an hour to get to 100%, mostly because after 95% ish the charging rate drops down to almost a trickle, and the last couple of % takes forever, as it was before. It does stay at about 44kW up until 93% or so, though.

Here's the TSB for the GSM
https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...des-dtc-built-on-or-before-09-sep-2021.11505/

As for the IPMA (image sensors) and the APIM (Sync) those were not covered under the Customer Satisfaction update and both of those are the biggest PITA's due to time and the use of a USB stick.

I'm not sure why they didn't do the GSM.

They won't update the GSM unless it meets the conditions specified in the TSB.

I asked for it to be updated, we'll see.

Per Darren Palmer on InsideEVs, the DCFC profile was optimized for the best conservative 15 minutes of charging and to go 10% to 80% in 45 minutes. But there were two expected changes before winter.
  • 80% charge cliff moved/changed
  • Faster charge times
So it sounds like you're saying that we're only seeing the 80% cliff gone but so far, no difference from 10% and it still looks like this profile to 80%:

Ford had server issues today. Tech was told to retry updates later today. Car won’t be ready until tomorrow.

Yup, I believe the exact phrasing for the satisfaction program states "faster total charge time", which includes that 80% cliff.

I understand your concern about the restarting thing, though, so if no one makes a video by next week, I'll record my sessions when I make my 600 mile roadtrip. The trip involves hitting all the EA chargers I can hit, so hopefully I'll be able to record a good session without having too much range anxiety ?

“Before winter”. I’ll just note that “winter” in the northern hemisphere starts on, or about, December 21 ?

Discuss among yourselves ?
