Can you send a link to the one you purchased? I purchased one and had to return it as it wouldn’t link to the car.

No, I bought it a couple years ago, so the link is long gone. You take your chances with a site like eBay, but I got one like this:

I bought the frunk button remote (Mach-E version) on ebay a year ago for $125. I programmed it myself and I've used the frunk button countless times. The one linked above on Amazon is a great deal if you don't mind the F150 trunk image!

You can buy a bare shell on amazon and swap the buttons to get the correct images. I used this one:

Received it today! Used these instructions, the ones linked above were for an ICE car. As the reply poster mentioned from this other thread, it took several attempts, but now it works!

I tried to remove the batteries from the original two, but was afraid to break the back clips.

This thread reminded me to test using the door code and backup start code in case I've ever lost fob/phone, or it just stops working. Works great, I'm glad to have this ability in an emergency.

I previously posted I couldn't get a new Lightning remote programmed and then deleted the post. I finally had success by moving the car out of my garage. Could be there needs to be communication from the car to wireless networks, or whatever's out there, to do the programming. My garage is like a bunker, built into a hill and the house is on top of it. The car has bad or zero wireless reception in the garage and the home wi-fi reception is weak.

A replacement key is $300. Then it has to be programmed, which takes 1-1/2 hours and costs an additional $225, for a total of $525 for a replacement key fob. Gone are the days when you could go to the hardware store and have an extra car key made for a few bucks.

Call a locksmith. They can often reprogram your key for a lot less.

I don’t know if it is any different with the Mach-e. Many locksmiths know how to rekey cars with chipped keys. I bought a used truck and a locksmith was called in to fix my issue with my truck not starting. After replacing the ECU and TIPM (essentially all computers) the shop called in a locksmith who reprogrammed the computers to the key. He even made us a backup key at no extra cost, without the remote controls, but more like a valet key. I can’t imagine it’s too different to do keyless FOBs…

Or one could get a Hyundai or a Tesla which no longer use keys, but NFC cards. Each card is $12 and you program it yourself.

If I lost my second fob I don’t think I would replace it. The fob is only useful when taking the car in for service anyways.
