Well plug and play works great for me, but as others have mentioned it does not recognize my Pass + account for EA and charges me the guest price per KW.

Ford! Any way you can link this?
It's unlikely Ford will ever use EA Pass+ directly. For one thing, it's separate payment systems. Plug & Charge uses Ford's wallet, not EA's.

Second, Ford has their own discount program that mirror's Pass+. But it hasn't been working yet. Someone posted that they finally saw it working, but I'm waiting for more confirmation before signing up.

Meanwhile, using the phone tap feature on the EA chargers works pretty well. Just open the EA app on your phone, plug in, and tap to the symbol on the charger. It automatically starts from there with the Pass+ rate.

FYI The Ford Blue Oval EA membership for $50 per yr has been working great for me on plug and charge and giving the 25% reduced EA rate every time. Starting on the next charge after the free kWh were used first. Some people prefer to turn the EA plus membership on and off per month of need and not use plug and charge. There are only a few months per yr I’d never use EA so the ford membership with EA is way easier. And when I use it on trips, I use it many times so it has already paid for itself. @evlar77

It's working fine now. With plug and charge on, just plug-in and follow promps if any. Last time it just indicated authorizing and then started charging @ .31 and billed my ford wallet. Ford sent me a text within 30 min, saying I wallet had been billed.

Great! Glad to hear it's finally working. We just completed a road trip a few weeks ago where it would have come in handy, but looking forward to using it on our next one. We do enough road trips (5-6/year) that I don't bother playing the on-off game with EA Pass+. So I don't mind just paying $50 for the full year for Ford's discount. The extra convenience of P&C is worth it for our situation.

Thank you! I had no idea about the premium blue oval membership. I don't see it as an option right now because I still have a balance of 3 kw. Are you saying that it will become an option to purchase once I've exhausted my free charging?

I had the option showing before my free charging was done. Not sure if it’s a partial rollout. I am a member of Early Access. Had the FE since March ‘21. Pretty sure your regular plug and charge will never recognize your separate ea plus membership. Better to turn off p&c and tap ur phone for the ea pricing if you can’t sign up for the blue oval membership.

Go to your Ford services/connect account and sign up there.

I suspect it was a limited rollout, or they hauled it back when they had issues. There is no option to sign up now.

I just checked mine, and no option to sign up now either. The option was there in January though.

I'm guessing it's just another mistake rather than a limited rollout. There was no mention of anything limited or temporary, and it wouldn't make any sense anyway. It took them a long time to even get it implemented there to begin with, months after originally announced. I suspect this is just another screw-up that will need to get fixed.

They rolled it out.

Customers told them it was screwed up.

They took it back off the website.

They fixed it.

Now, they'll put it back on the website.

Did my due diligence and read all 10 pages to see if anyone ran into the issue I had yesterday, but no joy. My sympathies to the early P&C adopters, has worked well for me since my first EA P&C charge in early January.

So, yesterday I plugged in at an EA and hit some stores, checking in on FordPass periodically. I got a charging stopped due to external charger error message and went back to the car. Apparently while trying to connect their Bolt, another driver messed up somehow and terminated my session.

Question is, can a session be resumed in a situation like this? I usually take a pic of the charger screen to record actuals for the session for some charge efficiency research I am doing.

Wish FordPass provided more details or there was a way to see session data in the EA app for P&C transactions.

On the plus side, it doesn't seem like my balance was reduced and I have not received a transaction statement from Ford like I did for my last charge. So maybe it was free. TIA.

The Bolt owner likely used the 2nd hose on your pump, which triggered the end of session.

EA's app accurately tracks each charge through it. FordPass doesn't accurately track anything.

I just exhausted the 250kwh complimentary EA. I also don't see the option to sign up for this BlueOval 25% off deal with $50 annual fee on the Connected Services page. The regular EA subscription is $4/mo = $48/year. It drops kwh from 43¢ to 31¢, a 28% discount. Seems like a better deal. Am I messing up the math? With the exception of plug and charge vs. NFC phone at EA charger, then plug in, I'm not seeing the advantage.

nope. It’s about the same deal on average if you subscribe all year at ea. just adds convenience of plug and charge and bills you when you charge vs prepay and loading the account with ea. I’ve used both now. But if you can’t get blue oval version then ea plus is the way to go. Pays for monthly fee with one charge for me.
