This looks really awesome and I’m definitely interested in getting one. Just one question. Is the matte black area of the pad a hard plastic or rubberized non-slip coating? I keep a bunch of small items in that area, like a parking garage transmitter, pen, ect. and I wouldn’t want them sliding around.
Sort of neither. It’s not glossy or slippery, it’s matte, but it’s not rubberized either. So items could potentially slide around, I guess depends on how hard you push your pony!

Frustrated by the crappy wireless charging mat in the Mach-e, I set out to see if there were any aftermarket solutions. Couldn't find any, but the closest I found was a double MagSafe insert custom made for Rivians from a company called TWRAPS. I contacted the owner, Iliya, to ask if they could make one for the Mach-e. He was very enthusiastic about it and asked me if I would help him design and develop it. I'm happy to report that after a month or so of testing various prototypes, we've arrived at a really great solution. Basically all you have to do is remove the cheap rubber mat and drop in the TWRAP's charging plate. It's made from a thick, hard plastic, has not one but TWO MagSafe charging puck built in, plugs directly into the USB-C port without blocking the other USB-A port. It has a lower front to allow for the thick camera lenses on newer iPhones so your phone sits perfectly level. With the MagSafe connection, there's no phone sliding around and you can charge two phones at the same time! Big enough and spaced perfectly for any combination of regular size iPhones and Pro Max's. It fits securely, doesn't rock or move around. Very solid. Charges great. Have a look at my pics of the final product that's now in production. You can find it here if interested: https://twraps.com/products/magsafe-dual-wireless-charger-for-mustang-mach-e

If I hadn’t already installed a MagSafe mount in my car, I would be all over this. If I ever get sick of the one I have I will be getting this. ??

It's hard, not rubberized for now... they will slip I am afraid :/

Well as soon as you add a skin/texture or a small horizontal compartment at the top to help with that, I will immediately put my order in!
I tried the small compartment but didn't really like it so I dropped the idea. The issue is that it's so small (in order to allow an iPhone Pro Max to fit as well as to not interrupt the USB ports in terms of height) that other than coins there is nothing else you can fit in there.

Thats understandable. I'm sure I'm in a minority that actually found that compartment useful on the OEM mat. Either way, a grippy texture should be just fine too.

Great product, thanks for putting it together. I’ve been wondering for a while if it would be possible to just install a magsafe ring from a case in the OEM mat. Or just cut out an opening in the mat for the camera bump on my 14 pro, but obviously a much more more limited solution than this cool plugged in setup.

Ordered up. Thanks to all for designing and making this
I want to pass along that I ordered this morning I just received confirmation of the shipment. To me that's a great sign of a responsive business that's actually selling something, not promises of full self driving anytime real soon.
Thanks @twraps . Looking forward to installing and reviewing!

Can it give enough power off of one outlet to charge 2 phones, especially when the left one is used for car play.
I had bought a MagSafe capable puck from Amazon (not Apple brand) and, though my phone did not get hot while using it, my phone did not charge as well as it does with the a cable. I can be at around 50% and plug in to a lighting cable and be charged to 100% in the 45-60 minutes it takes me to get home.

I bought an Apple mag safe puck and use it all the time, works fine. Maybe a cable would be a bit better but I have taken 4 hour trips with phone on MagSafe and no issues

I was specifically asking about the double puck. It is possible that with two phones charging there would not be enough energy for both

Magsafe is capable of 15W. And I think the USB-C port is also. So you would presumably get 7.5W per charger? But if you only put one phone on it, would it provide 15W?

Yesterday I got annoyed at the stock charger (had to resort to a cable - how 1994!)
Today I see this great post and the happy reviews;
just now ordered!
