So an extra 15 miles?
In the real world, yes. But, since the testing is done inside on a dyno, the EPA numbers will only come back higher if Ford adjusts the fudge factors that are supposed to translate that static dyno test into values for an actual moving car.

I won't be embarrassed driving around in my standard range Mach-E. I'll be happy to have not spent an extra $5,000+ on a capability that will never pay itself back for me.

I doubt your "pay more now or get less later" conclusion will bear fruit.
The other thing is that gaudy range numbers will matter less and less over time as DCFC stations proliferate.

See - I wasn't lying with the window sticker! ?
I think you're lying. And Ford is lying, too.
...Because they're going to unlock more range in a future update.

EDIT: In case I jinxed it, I'll just say "I'm hopeful" that they will.

heh - I'd hope so too, especially with such a large buffer and all. Just hope they don't go too far and attempt to charge for such OTA "upgrades".

If you know for a fact that will work for you good for you, but 210 is just too low to be usable for my comfort , even in a moderate climate area.

Think about it, 210 means you’re on a ~100 mile leash from home in ideal conditions . That’s a big ask if you’re not in a metropolitan area with abundant charging.

Even Tesla won’t sell you such a car with such poor range and Porsche went out of their way to say their 201 miles doesn’t tell the full story. My guess is the take rate on that will be really low.

Nice, now how long until:

A. People say this cannot be real because all but one number ends in a zero.

Or

B. This turns into a debate about how much "buffer" there is, therefore how much we should charge it, and therefore why the (insert name of other vehicle here) is better, and therefore we are "owed" another price cut.

I wouldn't say not real, but is it not just a little strange that the official numbers are so close to estimates from a year ago?

You would expect the ER to be less efficient than the SR due to the increased weight. Does anybody have an idea why physics doesn't apply to the MME?

It would set a terrible precedent to screw over first adopters.

Of course it would not be the first time.
