I absolutely love the design and specs of the EV6. If it was available in Canada at the time I was looking for an EV, I may have bought it over the Mach-e. Even now, there is no mention of a release date in Canada.

The lack of an included 120v/240v EVSE is very surprising and a crappy move by Kia. I thought I remember some of the early reviews mentioning that it was included. If it's not, then that's an extra $600, but not a huge deal for a $55,000-$60,000 vehicle.

EV6 has:
+ V2L ability
+ Longer warranty
+ Tow rated
+ Longer EPA range
+ 4.4s vs 5.1s 0-60 standing start
+ Augmented reality HUD
+ Wider tires for superior lateral grip
+ Lighter weight

- weak infotainment system
- minimal OTA capability
- poor internal nav + charging integration
- no glass roof (dark, claustrophobic backseat)
- no Plug and Charge
- minimal aftermarket accessories
Totally agree with all the pros and cons you mention.

Referring to that list of minuses, to me most are either pluses or a wash
>has CarPlay & android auto, so not sure it matters.
>OTA can’t be much worse than we have now ?
>the Ford nav charging integration has been terrible for me. Ridiculous and untrustworthy routing.
>no glass roof + real sunroof is a big plus
>p&c is just a cute feature. using the charging apps simply isn’t that big of a deal. At least i have never been double charged when using the apps. Same can’t be said for p&c.
>aftermarket will catch up just like it is trying to do with the MME. Plus for the Koreans is the common 5x114 bolt pattern making wheels much easier to find.

The only real negative for me is the frunk, but since Ford won’t let us open ours in any sensible manner it might as well not exist. ;)

Gotta see one in person but there is a high likelihood I will sell my MME for a dual motor GT Line eV6 this year. It’s just a better fit for what I want.

Our local Kia dealer said they'll have some in about 2 weeks so I'm going to go check them out. At 6'4" I wonder whether I'll fit in the front seats without having to recline them too much.

Looks like a solid option if the Ford dealer's ADM pisses you off or if Ford's production schedule/delays piss you off.

Well Kia's production schedule may challenge one's patience too. Just sayin'.

Hyundia is producing 9000+ Ioniq 5s a month for worldwide distribution. No idea about Kia though.

Ford can produce 6500+ but how many are stuck in chip-hold?

how about a useless frunk vs a very roomy one
Personally, I have never used my frunk, but that is mostly because it's faster/easier for me to use the trunk storage with handsfree opening or the back seat. Perhaps if I went on a long trip with a lot of bags, I may prefer having a larger frunk, but so far it hasn't been something I have used.

It has become so handy for me. I would not want to give it up but it would not be a deal breaker but it adds up with other things that could be a deal breaker

It will be handy only when Ford allows us to access it without opening the drivers door and pulling twice on circa 1940 hood release ? . I have started using mine more but it’s hugely inconvenient to do so.

I use the Access screen on the main menu to open it. Europeans have a frunk button on their fobs.

MME has wireless carplay/android auto which is awesome. I'd hate to be stuck with a tether for it on the EV6 (or any other car).

Sadly, I still haven't received the software update that allows this on my May 2021 build Mach-E

I either use the FP app or the combo numbers on side pillar
