Traditionally EA gives free charging on holiday weekends. Sometimes they notify members, sometimes it is via word of mouth as people charge.

I'm counting on it, coming back from a trip on Thursday and won't charge up at home, nice $10 free on our weekly grocery trip run.

Yeah mostly likely, they stopped really announcing them a little bit ago.

As it is right now, you can generally assume any major holidays and any "green holidays" like Earth day and such will have free EA charging for at LEAST the day of the holiday. Generally they give you the whole weekend if the holiday is on a Friday through Monday.

I would expect Memorial Day to include the whole Memorial Day Weekend for free charging going off of EA's track record

Curious business model, giving it for free on days that are typically high travel days.

I wonder if the holidays also give EA really good rates, so they are just passing it on to us.

Agreed. I hope that EA capitalizes on people needing their product by ensuring they charge customers for it, especially in times of high demand.

My thoughts about this strategy.
1. Drug dealers give away the first hit to get you hooked, it's marketing.
a. New drivers be like, it's free I might as well try it.
2. They can stress test the system by getting us to all use it on those days.
3. They get to say we had 2.5 million(made up number) charges on a single day to stakeholders.

I just checked the EA website and saw nothing about free charging for the holiday weekend. I’m holding off on charging at home until I know for sure!

They haven’t announced it at all sometimes

Just a relatively new business in a market that’s really in its infancy. I think they’re just trying to build goodwill in their (potential) customer base.

In some areas, they have lower demand charges on holidays due to lower industrial demand, but that’s speculation on my part - I don’t know that for a fact.

For what’s it worth I saw a Facebook page where someone asked if they were having a free Memorial Day weekend and they said no. Again for what it’s worth.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Free Electrify America Charging Weekend (Memorial Day?) dumb-and-dumber-lloyd

I mean... it really just says they haven't announced it. That, and not all stations may be participating, even if they did do it. There have certainly been weekends where some say it's activated and others said their local one was not. Gonna all just have to wait and check. That said... everyone have a wonderful MD weekend.. and stay safe!
