Bro. Man I feel for you. I was at least able to get over 80. But seriously. Spend this amount of money and can’t use it. Do you use the travel charger that came with the car or did you have one installed?

Man, I feel for you because I’m there too! In the shop again. This is the 5th trip for the same suspension default and now a new reverse assistant issue. I’ve started a claim with Ford to return the car. Sucks because I got it (GTPE) in August and I’ve put on less than 3k. I love the car but it can’t stay on the road. Bummed! Oh, and you see that lame Edge in the background. That’s been my loaner for the better part of the last two months.

Worst part is. I bought it in GA and moved to FL. So now I don’t even get a loaner. Just really sad to spend this amount of money on a car and spend most of the time in the shop. Been seriously considering selling it
Why would where you live determine if you get a loaner?

well I learned that the loaner program seems to be left to individual dealerships. I don’t fully understand but apparently if they don’t sell you the car they don’t have to give you a loaner. Now I also learned that if I have the ford extended service then it qualifies. I was amazed as I really thought the dealership represents the manufacturer. So it’s not the dealerships responsibility to provide the loaner car.

Ford doesn't really understand the value of "loaners" in my opinion. Most non-luxury brand dealers just don't.

Most people with this issue are living in extreme cold regions. This is the first time I heard about the same issue in Florida. Mine worked with no issues in summers and as temaratures dropped, this all started

puzzling indeed......

I'm wondering if there might be some non-waterproof connectors that are suffering from salt/water intrusion as well as the cold weather people suffering from slush/salt intrusion ?

I'm thinking that with the big gaps around suspension in the wheel well, and an almost sealed belly, the combination of water/salt sprayed on or piling up on the HV connections at the front of the HV battery might be a problem if the HV connectors are less than perfect.....

You have to keep it in perspective. Globally over 70,000 MMEs have been sold. If there's 10 people here that we know of with issues that's a fraction of a fraction of a percent. Obviously there's people who don't participate in the forum, but even if we took 10 of the 8kish members we are still talking about very very few.
..... just looking for what could possibly be similar with the ones having problems ....
it may not be cold as much as salt+water if there are not similar problems popping up in FL.

I am getting suspicious of the HV connectors; 450+v DC will arc like a mother if given the opportunity and a path with a bad/unsealed connection.

Not quite.

First, there is no Ford loaner program. Dealerships may have a loaner program. Many got rid of them years ago due to liability. If you read your warranty, there is nothing mentioned about a loaner.

Second, there is an OPTION to BUY a free loaner with the extended warranty. In other words, you can buy an extended warranty that doesn't include the free loaner, or pay more and get it with it.

If you choose the free loaner in the extended warranty, that applies to day 1 of ownership.

Dealerships are independent franchisees.

I negotiated a free loaner with the GM who is my "salesman".

Some recalls provide for a free rental car paid for by Ford, such as the windshield remove and replace and resealing of the roof glass. That is not up to the dealer, Ford pays for a rental car.

My comment wasn't to the OP or anyone who has the issue it was to someone who hasn't had issues.

This forum is full of people who constantly blow things out of proportion and attempt to instill fear into everyone. I never do that and try to bring rationality and perspective to the table.
I really appreciate the information we 'discover' in the forum.... I am always trying to reverse engineer to figure out if there is anything I can DIY to prevent/fix problems. If these battery issues turn out to be a badly sealed connector... it might explain the relatively low numbers of problems as being related to either low numbers of 'bad' connectors, or only occasional assembly mistakes when connector seals are nicked or not fully engaged.

I feel bad for people having problems.... but really appreciate the information on the problems, and the eventual fixes to help get to the root problems.

We all bought a 1st year model knowing it *probably* would have some issues.... It sucks when you happen to be one with a problem.

I original assumed it was water myself and that would explain freezing as well which would cause expansion, but I was told that water wasn't the cause.

I now wonder if chargers could be problematic and there's a thread about using the included Ford charger. I'm curious how many people who have this issue use the Ford charger vs another brand.

I use the Ford Mobile charger exclusively at home.... and only occasional (like 4 times) used outside public chargers. No battery problems in 10k miles so far.

I also live in an area that does get pretty cold occasionally, and I have had the MME outside overnight charging on 120v at -10 F.... no problems.

We generally don't use a lot of salt on the roads, and don't get a lot of water/slush, even when it is cold.... but water+salt would give a harsher test of seals, and all it would take is a nick in the connector seal, or the occasional mfg problem with a connector, or mis-assembly with a connector that is not fully engaged.

....I'm just thinking about the number of times I've discovered a problem with a Solar install boiling down to a connector that was not fully engaged, or poor wire management without a good 'drip loop' causes a short at a wet connection when it is 400+volts DC.

If it makes you feel any better Volvo has plenty of frustrated Recharge owners with similar issues.
I guess you can't file under GA lemon law. Used it previously for another brand car and definitely shakes up manufacturer and dealer when this is thrown out. I ended up getting same vehicle, 1 year newer to resolve...(particularly when no inventory..)

Ok. So. I had a RTE 1. Long story short I got a GT AS a replacement. Worked fine from October to January 4th when it became a brick. The shop had it for three weeks, everything seemed ok. Now I got an alert yesterday about service asap. Of course this happened Saturday afternoon at 4 pm. Well on my app I got power train malfunction/ reduced power AND high voltage battery warning.
Now I have had it back for less than a month and now I have to go back to the shop. Anyone else having a lot of issues? I understand new car and technology but seriously I am getting really upset here. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Car has less than 6800 miles on it and I am getting aggravated with the service department as most of them see, like under trained monkeys. Not the tech the idiots at the counter don’t seem to understand that when it shuts down it’s down. Maybe I am asking for too much

I have a Mach E premium and I also experienced same problem. I thought it was due to severe cold in Winnipeg. Now I know it wasn’t the issue.

Just to inform you that I did a factory reset and turn off my car for a while and restarted it. It worked for me.

Anyway, now some other problem started. My Mach e battery drains faster than others (might). Just to give you numbers, to travel 25 km, it drains 16-20%.
Is anyone facing same problem?? Should I be worried. First of all I have a range anxiety on top of that this problem. Started hating Mach e.
