Is there still time to change my dealer? If so, what is the process? Sorry if this has been answered before.
You have to call Ford Marketing to get your deal changed. I did it about 3 weeks ago. The GT ordering email still shows my original dealer, but the website has the one listed. I show the number as 1-800-334-4375

I could understand leaving those things off a track car, but this is no way to equip a premium electric 2021-22 vehicle, performance oriented or otherwise. But unfortunately, this does seem to be the trend.

Anyone want to venture a guess as to when these will start retail production? Then add about 6-8 weeks of sitting and transport, if it follows the regular ME launch pattern.

I'm warming up to those rims. They look so easy to clean too. The nicer Performance rims are awesome, but it looks like each one would take a half hour to clean all those nooks and crannies.
Good point on the cleaning of them. I like a good old 5 spoke. The BMW rims of old were always a nightmare to clean. You needed a toothbrush.

Dude, your ride looks sweet!
Thank You. I do love my car. And when it’s -20° I’ll be happy that I have every bit of range I can get. So while a GT would be fun to say, how often would I use the extra 0-60 speed? Just a little “grass is greener” effect.

I reserved 11/19/2019..... so obviously really early reservation. I DID NOT receive the email telling me orders are opening on the 28th, although I have received every other email about my reservation.
I’m starting to worry..... but just wondering if other did not receive an email as well.
thanks

Anyone thinking of switching a PE to more efficient tires? I REALLY want magnaride, but I'm afraid 235 mi range is cutting it close for my use case. If it could get closer to 250 I would feel more comfortable. Not sure what the realized gain would be though.

Then again, I don't want the glass roof, and I prefer the GT wheels.

If they would just offer magnaride on the GT it would solve all my problems.

I actually want everything the PE has to offer, with the exception of the glass roof. I want a black painted roof, summer tires, the PE wheels, MagnaRide, Active 360.

unlikely if pre-GT is any indication. at best it would by in order of order conversaion.
Considering there are people with MME's who made reservations and placed actual many months after my premium rez and order, I'd say it's a safe bet that reservation order is very low on the "how we determine the build order pole."

I put my GT reservation in 11/2020. SO a year after the reservations opened up. And I got the email about the 28th.

Proper performance versions have a nice list of detailed changes and ford will normal call attention to those changes for the GT we have not had any of that information. The latest performance SUV / Crossover to come from ford is the b-segment puma ST in which the press release goes into lots of details, I am not going to paste it all but just from this small snippet we can see details of changes to the suspension & steering setup over the standard puma.

"Puma ST further enhances Ford’s B-car architecture to counterbalance the vehicle’s naturally higher centre of gravity. The rear suspension twist-beam is uprated to 2,000 Nm/deg torsional stiffness, an increase of more than 40 per cent compared with Fiesta ST and 50 per cent compared to the standard Puma, with a 28 mm anti-roll bar integrated into the U‑section. A front 24 mm anti-roll bar also contributes to cornering stability.

Ford’s patented force vectoring springs also improve the Puma ST’s stability, agility and responsiveness. The non-uniform, non-interchangeable, directionally-wound springs apply vectoring forces to the rear suspension and enable cornering forces to travel directly into the spring, for increased lateral stiffness.

The spring technology works in combination with Hitachi twin-tube frequency-reactive dampers at the front and rear, with the stiffness needed for enhanced body control alongside the compliance to isolate smaller road imperfections for high-speed refinement. Bespoke bump stops have been specified to maintain control under high suspension loads.

Puma ST’s steering delivers an 11.4:1 ratio – almost 25 per cent faster than the standard Puma – provided by a combination of revised front knuckle featuring a shorter steering arm and faster steering rack gearing, for heightened turn-in response"

Everybody is different, but for me once ford start throwing around the "performance" name then they need to start giving out a detailed description to changes made otherwise I have to assume not very much was done beyond the basics.

Check your spam, social, and promotions mailboxes. On the web portal if possible. It may be in there. I also did not get the email announcing orders opening soon for the non-gt's last year. I was still able to order on day 1. (Not that got me a jump start .. still waiting on the car.)
