My wife was driving the car today and got the dreaded High Voltage Battry Warning and power train malfunction/reduced power messages. Both in ford pass app too. Is there someone who can help me determine if these are in fact related to the HVBJB issue? I haven’t had mine replaced yet and knew this day was coming. I just want to be as informed as possible talking with the service department tomorrow. Any help is appreciated.

Hello! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this battery warning concern? Thank you!

Just happened to us too. Best of luck. Our dealer can't see the car until Wednesday (3/8) so we will be limping along until then.

I would call your dealer's service advisor and ask that they pull you up in PTS and check the DTCs to see if you have the codes that would indicate HVJB replacement is required. Do you have any current indications on the instrument panel that you still have this issue? It could have been a transient condition.

Turns out it was related to a charging fault. My wife neglected to tell me that the charging ring was red when she go into the car during the first phone call. She stopped and after an appointment started the car and the codes cleared. Should have waited to post but figured I could beg someone on here to run my VIN and see if the codes were in fact HVBJB.
To be honest, I was hoping it was to get this over with. My wife was only 5 miles from home and I could have picked her up. I’d hate to have this happen 100 or 200 miles from home. @Ford Motor Company please give feedback to corporate that enough time has passed that everyone should be able to get the HVBJB replaced BEFORE it fails. Us early adopters shouldn’t be punished with constant anxiety about road trips just because we bought our cars before others.

For ours, they did pull the DTCs and all the tech (really just a scheduler) could tell me is they saw the SVS/Reduced power code and couldn't get more specific until they had it in house to diagnose. I have a ODB2 reader, but my wife has the car at work right now. I will see if I can pull the exact code when we get home tonight.

So this exact thing happened to me yesterday - first I got a charger fault error when the car was plugged in at my house. Then the charger ring was red when I unplugged and when I started it, I got the power train error and battery voltage error and the car wouldn’t restart for a little while. Once I could start it, I drove it to the dealership. They can’t look at it until Monday. My manufacture date is after 5/22/22, so I’m curious what caused this? Was charging with the included charger with my home 240V plug

I have these 2 errors now as well.
Ford Mustang Mach-E HighVoltage Battery Warning Capture11

Am scheduled to take it in to the dealer on Friday morning. I do notice that I do not have full power, though it is not stopping me from charging and driving as usual. Any insight from forum members/experts is greatly appreciated.

@vpisipati sure looks like the HVBJB contactor problem but probably the only way to know for sure is to dump out the codes using an OBD reader, and/or have someone who has the FDRS software run your VIN.

@astrorob, thanks for the reply. I will get the obd codes today and will also request FDRS check on this forum.

Same exact for me , right after I received 4.2.2 OTA

1: charge Fault
2: high voltage battery warning - may shut down without warning
3: power train malfunction / reduced power

3rd trip to dealership in a month. Just lovely. Good thing I am looking at an I4

no way to convince my wife to drive the car home to NY from Florida now.

was supposed to drive to Naples tomorrow from Boca Raton, not happening.

and some people want to know why others complain about the car.

edit: faults have cleared themselves and car is now charging.

these faults do throw the fear into you , thankfully didn’t happen to my wife on the road.

Yeah the dealership couldn’t find anything wrong with it and now Ford is wavering on paying my car loaner fee that the dealership wants to charge. $85 per day for 8 days…. So I’m not pleased. They said they could only cover it if a warrantied part broke, but can’t answer why the alerts happened in the first place. I live in a very rural area, so not having a car for 8 days would have been impossible.

I am 1200 miles from home and just spoke to someone at the BEV team

all my codes cleared and I am charging up the car right now. Seems to be working

the rep is asking for approval on a rental $40 non Ford and $45 a day for a Ford.

I explained to her that minimum for a car to is $70 a day at best.

she will call me back Within 24 hrs.

decision now is to even bring the car in , which I guess I should do.

Looks like you just got 4.2.2 today. That could cause some temporary problems. I don't have a code report after the OTA so I can't see what's up until it's driven.
