Depends if solid state batteries actually come to market. Honestly if there was a way to switch the current battery with a solid down the line I'd keep it forever but I doubt they will let us and make us buy a new vehicle.

5 years and 11 months - I bought the extended warranty (6 years total) and will not keep this car without coverage.

I'm really surprised by people saying 2-3 years until they replace the MME. I usually keep my cars for at least 10 years before replacement. I take good care of my cars and I don't live in snowy climate so that helps. My MME replaced my 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe. Aside from some rock chips from commuting she was in pretty solid shape.

The only thing that would change my mind is if the battery degrades too much after year 8 when the battery warranty drops off.

100% trading in the GT when the lease is up in 4 years. That puts me in December of 2025. Hopefully by then we will have SUV EVs such as explorer/grand cherokee. The car is beautiful don’t get me wrong but its small. One stroller in the back and a baby bag and no more room. I know i have the frunk but i just havent gotten used to using it. I would love a performance model EV of the explorer ??

I'm not sure. Though I do tend to keep vehicles for a while though, especially because I have more than one car and pre-covid, I had a short commute, and these days, no commute. At my present trajectory, I will have 15,000 miles on the odometer in 3 years, and 20,000 in four years. Total waste of money to get a new car with that kind of use in a few years time.

I also thought about maybe keeping my Mach-E forever, like my 2006 Mustang GT, which I am the original owner of. But with that car, as much as I still like it, I have learned that there is a vast, vast valley between being new and exciting on the one hand, and old and charming on the other. Between these points, the car is just old, outdated, and increasingly costly to keep in excellent shape (relatively cheap to keep it running good or at least OK, but to keep it in excellent shape, it does require some money).

So I don't know. Recently, I started looking to see if I could flip my Mach-E for another Mach-E because of how high used car price valuations are. If I do this, I think I am much more likely to get another vehicle (a refreshed Mach-E in a few years?) sooner rather than later because for me, it would break the emotional connection of having my first, original Mach-E.

We're planning on keeping it for a "long" time...say maybe 10 years and we'll see how it's going then. But I've gone through a lot of cars in my life, so ask again in five years and my answer may be different.

The answer to this question also depends on your age and where you are in your life.
In my case I will be 61 this March.

Also in my past since having my driver's licence , I owned more Ford Mustangs than any other car. 7 different Mustangs , not including 1st used 1982 Mustang.

Looking forward to getting this first " electric " Mustang " and always wanted grabber blue.

Financing is 72 months, which I hope by that time ,will not need to work any longer. So hopefully this be my last car.

1-3 years. I think my longest ownership was 3 years. Technology in cars is like a late 90s computer. I need to upgrade to that 56k modem because this 28.8 will be outdated soon.

Or as soon as I'm bored with it. I'm selling my '21 Audi next month then I'll need to find something else ICE in it's replacement.

Do you plan to keep your Mach E forever? Or, is it something that you plan to have for 2-3 years until there are more proven electric options (eg Fisker, Rivian, Lucid actually deliver cars)?
My guess is that since most people on this forum are early adopters, they will be bored with these in 1 to 4 years and move on to something else. My personal time frame is probably 2 years. But could be more if i decide i really like it.

Probably like all the cars before it. If it treats me well, I usually keep it until payoff and then start shopping for the replacement. If it becomes a turd, it will be a lot sooner

I originally intended to keep it forever, since I bought the car almost a year ago I've become interested in something that would require me to be able to tow. So now I'm thinking, maybe I';; wait until GM comes out with the electric blazer then sell.
