Swiss Army knife can opener attachment. I removed all the clips in a few minutes by prying the curved edge under the clip, levering up the clip a bit, then pulling it all of the way out. Only slight deformation on the clip, and I didn't have to buy a special tool.

Some creative solutions here to pull the fasteners.

Just curious, for those that have taken it out, what happens if water leaks through the holes? I took mine out but I'm worried that it I put ice or hose it down, the water will leak into sensitive components.

Removal was about 15 minutes with screwdriver and pliers, and I reinserted them after remolding the few screw pieces that bent slightly.

I was familiar with these fasteners as they are the same used for the hatch divider covering the battery compartment on our jetskies, which I had to remove 1 week ago.

The plastic pins and holes holding the frunk dividers in place were never watertight. If you remove the dividers and reinstall the pushpins, the enclosure will still not be watertight. I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's hopefully been considered in its engineering.

There are openings to the road below, I wouldn't worry too much about those small holes. I put the fasteners back in mine, just because it looks better.

I don't think you have to worry about it. I've had the storage bin out and gave it a good look. Nothing different than any other engine compartment that I have seen with watertight connections on all the plugs. If water were to get through the holes of the divider, it certainly would'nt be much and only probably a slow leak or drip. It will run straight down the side of the bin and drip underneath it. As Jonathan said above, I am sure engineering considered this.

Here are some pics of the open road down under (both sides, the openings are about a hundred (thousand?) times larger than the area of the fastener holes).

I have it open while doing Mark's subwoofer project, back to work!

I just purchased this pin removal tool - pretty inexpensive, and hopefully, it'll do the trick better than using a knife or screwdriver!
