If I eat at burger king, I get the Impossible Whopper because it tastes the same as a regular whopper. You'd think that statement is a compliment for the Impossible Whopper, but It's actually an indictment of how tasteless the regular whopper is.

Our local butcher sells impossible burgers.

We picked up a couple out of curiosity along with some "real"/"normal" burgers for comparison. The impossible ones were pretty good and actually tasted "meaty". We were very surprised.

I don’t have the Mach E 4x badges on my FE .. they were removed at PPF install and don’t have replacement yet... that means other than the front and back ponies no other identifiers. I have had a few people on parking lots ask me what car is it... some recognize the pony and asked me if I like it ... several times had people pull up in the next lane at stop lights ask me to roll down windows to ask if it’s better than Tesla. And a few thumbs up and head nods at stop lights. No one yet said it’s not a Mustang yet to me . Even here in San Diego I still rarely see a Mach E. I must have seen two CG Mach Es since my February delivery.

To be honest, I feel like when people don't like the MME, it's not because it's electric.

I think the reason a lot of people don't like it is because they see it as Ford turning the Mustang into a soccer mom car

I think Ford tilted the design far too definitively towards style over function to earn that label. I can think of another small/medium-sized electric SUV that would more comfortably wear that crown if we are being honest.

But anyway, the Mustang’s popularity has always had to do with it’s very broad appeal. People wouldn’t care for it as much and it wouldn’t be nearly as much of an icon if it were more niche like the Corvette (really, how many non-car people cared that Chevy finally made the Corvette mid-engine with the current C8 generation).

Fun fact, no less than Carroll Shelby first referred to the original Mustang as a ‘secretary’s car’. Hardly a ringing endorsement of its sportiness:

“Shortly after the 1964 Ford Mustang was introduced, Ford boss Lee Iacocca contacted successful racer and race car builder Carroll Shelby and told him that the Motor Company wanted to make the Mustang a race car. Carroll Shelby quickly replied that it couldn’t be a race car because it was “a secretary’s car” – and that he didn’t think that it could be turned into the premise of a race car.”

Personally I don't disagree. True it's not the irreverent, impractical muscle car Mustangs have become over the years. But it's no mom car either.

But It just seems that the people that don't like it, feel the way they do because it's a crossover and in their mind crossover=mom car. If they got behind the wheel and felt the driving dynamics I think they'd change their tune.

As a side note, on the whole Shelby "secretary car" thing, he wasn't wrong. That's absolutely how ford marketed the first mustang. My brother has a 67 with the original owners manual. And the diagrams showing the pedals show a woman wearing heels (I'm just going to ignore the gender biases of the 60s. That's for another day on another forum)

The good thing is, that it is up to us "MME buyers" to represent it and refer to it as "Mustang".
And I am going to repeat that till the haters "thumbs down" fall of....
If anybody really wants to take a serious discussion on if it really is a Mustang I would recommend to them to drive one first and to talk after. I guess 95% of the hate will be gone after driving one.
The rest of the hate is, like often, a mixture of stupidity and ignorance.

Keep being proud of it guys

I think some of the "hate" will eventually wear off. I don't have my AWD ER just yet but when I do, and I smoke a few (lower-to-mid trim) Challengers and Camaros off the line, maybe they'll get it ?

It's the same thing when people yelled "not a Porsche" at Cayenne/Macan owners...now Porsche is afloat BECAUSE of the Cayenne and Macan! lol

always a positive reaction really makes me feel happy. They take the picture of the car. So Many head turns. People are taking time to compliment the car.
Sheeesh, I don't get many reactions or people wanting to look at my car except the Service Manager at my Ford dealer as she hadn't seen Infinite Blue or the inside of the car before. She loved both. And secondly, sitting in a waiting room facing the parking lot my car was right outside the window and one lady kept looking at it and said out-loud what kind of car is that? I proudly told her it was a Mustang Mach E and she just said "Oh, it looks different." I did witness several Mach E haters on another forum and one said the Mach E was a "stain" on the Mustang name. I replied to him that was pretty harsh and he backed off but said a lot of people feel that way. Hope I start getting more positive feedback on my car when I'm driving it this summer.

I have taken my MME to the last two meetings of the Mustang Owners Club of Southeastern Michigan; our club is older (by a few months) than the Mustang Club of America. I always get there early so I can park in front of the American Legion Hall. During the meeting I hear the typical not a Mustang comments - but after the meeting those same voices are asking me a lot of questions in the parking lot.

During #GlobalMustangDay on April 17 a few of our Forum members were present. I found the crowd to be interested in the MME and really enjoyed my BIG V8 modification. Ford brought the Mach-e 1400 as well as a lot of other performance Mustangs.

When I show them the frunk to see the engine, I yell damn, somebody stole it...lol
This right here is one of the best responses I've seen!

As for the Mustang name, the way I see it is without it, we'd have the Ford badges all over the thing. Instead they went all out and even redesigned the pony into an "Electric" version. That alone is good enough for me. I've talked with a lot of family and friends about the car and in all honesty most don't care and I agree with that. Someone said it earlier, Ford called it the Mustang Mach E and "it is what it is"
