I have this exact issue. My Android Auto will disconnect at a specific intersection near home (4-way, with lights). Without fail, traversing this intersection results in a disconnect.

I guess rebooting Sync sounds like the quickest way to resolve the problem, at least for now.
sometimes just toggling bluetooth off then on (either on the MME or the phone) causes it to reconnect. really depends what is easiest at the time whether i try rebooting Sync first or not.
From my experience you don't need to do either of these things. There are 2 spots on my drive that Wireless AA always drops (recently that is... 1 has ongoing construction I suspect is the cause and the 2nd no clue but it's absolutely location based and consistent). I'll get the connection failed message and it drops me to this screen (random image from the internet, ignore CarPlay text):

I wait a minute or so because the connection will fail if I try immediately (likely still in range of whatever wireless interference caused the drop) but I click the giant Phone List button and then tap on my phone to expand the dropdown menu. It will show that the phone is still connected but the third icon is the AA icon. I can press that and it will reconnect without force restarting sync or toggling Bluetooth.

My guess is that both of those methods that work for you work because it reestablishes the connection with your phone and auto starts AA again.

i've tried that once or twice when i go completely out of range (not EMI disconnected) and it didn't work; probably because both BT and WiFi had issues though so i'll try via your suggestion next time i get a probable EMI disconnect. ?

yep, BT reconnect is usually a good trigger since thats how android auto negotiates the WiFi connection info between the headunit and the phone. the Sync reboot is a bigger hammer but sometimes it's easier when you're driving and it's just a 2-button push on the steering wheel.

This used to happen to me very sporadically. Maybe once a month or less. But lately it's happening multiple times per week. I have a samsung galaxy s23 ultra. No idea if it's a car issue or phone issue. But extremely frustrating. Lately I've found it easier to reboot the sync system manually using steering wheel controls rather than wait for Bluetooth to connect on its own.

For me this has been resolved by one of the OTAs over the past couple weeks. I had gotten to a 100% fail rate when driving next to a particular BART train station, so either the OTA fixed it or BART has significantly changed their power infrastructure EMI which is unlikely.

Im having this issue now more frequently with my S23 Ultra. How do you reboot sync with the steering wheel controls? *edit: Nevermind I found how to do it.!

This week I've been getting the error multiple times a day. It's driving me crazy. Now I've started rebooting both my phone and sync to see if that helps.

Before switching to IOS Pixel 7 pro and S23 Ultra had the same issue dealership told me it’s the phones and they can’t reproduce the problem. Still has issue with IOS disconnecting, I have pretty much gone wired CarPlay and AA and this resolves the issue. My opinion this is a HW issue in the radio itself. I am expecting Fore to go Android Automotive like GM is and a few others. This also forces you to buy a ATT internet subscription and other items which I am sure Fore gets a cut.

Hi there! I can look into your Mach-E's error message concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

Unfortunately, rebooting the center tablet/console does not fix the issue. The S23 Ultra has the worst time maintaining the wireless Android Auto connection since the 6.xx series of updates released to my MME. I've now tested a Google Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro - both are worlds better in terms of AA Wireless stability but are still, ultimately, unstable. The only way to work around this is to disable the Wireless Projection option under the Connectivity menu in the car's settings screen. This will force you to only use AA via a wired connection (which really sucks and might not be a perfectly stable solution).

Out of curiosity has anyone also noticed that logging out of ford pass fixes the disconnect issue. It does so for me on android, Samsung s20. Really annoying.

Hate to bump this old thread, but anyone managed to get this permanently fixed? (Galaxy S21 here). Definitely have reset sync before, but not all the time.

Still happens to me multiple times a drive typically. Ford online support was not helpful and just told me to take it to the dealer; I haven't had a chance yet.

Going to try the above post. Also just upgraded to a new version of android today.

What OTA are you on? One of the more recent ones fixed what had been broken by a prior update and become a daily occurrence at the same location on my S10e.

The Ford Gods must be watching us. This morning it dropped at the usual spot for the first time in a month or two, and also dropped again later in a new spot.
