Clearly Tom feels that the TeslaTap 50 is sufficient for the Mach E as it is sufficiently rated for 48A chargers. His feeling is there is no need for the 80 in vehicles out there today.
Yeah, the TeslaTap website seems to be waffling on the ratings. This is what it said a few days ago:

Thank you, Mark. That answers that question. I shall now proceed to move mine from a garage shelf to the spot on the garage floor where it'd be if I actually had my Mach-e. Along with all my other Mach-e things.I can report that there is plenty of room for your TeslaTap to nestle in the compartment with the Ford Mobile charger.
As I see it (I have not had each of these in my hands to verify this), the TeslaTaps each have a different maximum Ampere rating, likely based on the size and construction of the conductors within. The units with higher Ampere rating will have larger conductors (and possibly different materials), which will not heat up as quickly as the units with the smaller rating. I believe *that* is the secret of why you should get one with a higher rating than you need. It will take the larger one longer to heat up than the smaller one. So if you are going to charge for a very short time, the smaller rating would be OK, but if you were to use it overnight, you ould need the one with the larger rating. Since they are passive, none of them can "fry" your car. Again, I haven't had one in my hands, so I am just guessing here based on decades of experience in the tech sector.
