I got the Oct. 23 letter outlining the 23B50 update and it appeared the thing to do was wait for an OTA to install. I received 2 power-up downloads over the next few weeks including 6.6. Looking at the forum, it appeared that 6.6 included the 23B50 update, however I just did not think the download had been long enough to include it. A few weeks later, I had my F-150 in for service and I asked the Ford service tech if she could check if I had, in fact, received the update. She looked and said yes, it had been installed. I still did’nt feel I had gotten the download but must admit by then I was just trying to shovel 6” of snow and dealing with 10 degree temps! Then 2 days ago I received an e-mail from Ford alerting me that 23B50 had not been installed and it was important for me to have it done.
I do not obsess over updates but this seems apretty important thing since I will be doing DCFC charging in a couple of months.
In the car went yesterday. It received 23B50 and ABS, PCM, SOBCMB, SOBDMC and BECM updates. The service tech said it had not been updated and I have no idea what any of that stuff is, but I certainly had a warm, fuzzy feeling driving home!
I guess my point is, it is a little frustrating trying to get the proper info and shows I should have been more diligent, so I thought I’d pass this along as I’m sure others have the same situtation.

I had the 23B50 update done on 1/5/24, along with the 22S41 and the windshield reseal. 3 weeks later my home charge cable wouldn't disconnect and I had to get towed to the dealer, where they did the 23B50 again. I guess I was lucky it happened at home and not on the road.

How did they disconnect the charge cable to allow it to be towed? Was the charger not hard wired?

What I found on this forum was 6.6 had the update. But ,in my case ,it did not. My dealer said I had the update, but I found later I did not, point being, I don’t know how you find out if you have the update if you’re just an average person. Ford’s email finally convinced me I did not have the update, rather frustrating. I simply should have taken the car in, checked, and had it done. Seems like an important update.
