My post obviously upset you and drew a response that I can't possibly respond to without seeming calous.

So I think I best just say I'm sorry.
I really regret my post.
Its not my job to absolve you but I will give you props for the apology (y)

I have no idea what’s going on anymore. ?

I guess I’m all confused on what it means to remote start an EV. ?

Your manual can be downloaded in PDF form from owner.ford.com.

I suggest you review the settings in the car under Remote Start the next time you are in it. You will understand once you look at them.

You can remote start twice, or once and one extend. Period.
I can verify that the remote start dies lockout after 2 or 3 attempts (I didn’t count at the time). This happened to me on my recent PAAK malfunction.

That button decision wasn't thought out very well. A fan would indicate I can control the climate in the car not just turn it on/off. They either needed to keep it labeled as remote start or added proper climate controls. As it is, it seems like they had planned on incorporating full climate control and either ran out of time or just gave up half way.

This thread is a great example of how @Ford Motor Company totally screwed up this new release. EVERYONE calls it REMOTE START. FORD called it REMOTE START. Then, some idiot, or some committee, changed it to CLIMATE.

This is closely followed by launching a feature called BlueCruise, which was handsfree driving, then deciding to incorporate all assisted driving under the name.

Next would be launching Charge Assist, and then renaming it to Public Charging.

You can't make this stuff up, can you? Even their own reps can't follow the illogic.
Look, if they don't keep giving us superficial changes, we'd expect them to actually deliver new functionality - maybe even BlueCruise 1.234

What is this brake pedal near the floor. Where did this come from? What does it do? Somehow FordPass 5.0 is behind my confusion, I am sure!

For what its worth, there were a few snide/unhelpful comments in this thread, but I didn't consider yours to be one of them - at all.

They can take it back to the drawing board, and have a meeting where they discuss how to make it clearer, and agree that since you are REMOTEly STARTing the charge, they can label it remote start. Easy.
Or get user input, since we are the ones stuck with their dumbass decisions.

The crazy thing to me is most everything is still there and works similarly. We just have to navigate a bit differently. I will say the start button seems mislabeled as it really means charge to 100%. And I agree the fan thing was at the least poorly rolled out but it is applicable as we are not starting our cars - only the climate. I switched over to my ICE rig and the control differences make sense. Everything works fine for me but to be fair I do not use PAAK.

So we have a Lightning and a Mach-e. On Ford Pass, when I hit the fan button for the Lightning, I can change temperature, turn on heated/cooled seats and start defrost. When I switch to the Mach-e, it only allows me to turn the fan on or off. Odd that they're different. And on both, it looks like the longest I can run climate is 25 minutes (15 originally, then extend 10 minutes).

Have to look to see if I have settings different between the two vehicles.

Absolutely! Clear as mud!

Well, now I have some more feedback to give them about their app, like maybe re-label that button to "Charge Now"
I am still flumixed on their naming. Why would you label a button "start" to mean "start charging to 100%" and now a button with a fan symbol means "climate control" . The Old app had a "start" button but was confusing I guess cause it didn't "start" car. But less confusing than changing nomenclature and not tell anyone. Did they all sit in room and say "perfect. Intuitively users will know we changed naming scheme up. It is now very intuitive!" "We will also remove features and say it is better" we will also put start on top cause everyone uses that so much more than lock or unlock car. No one will confuse "start" meaning or accidently but dial charge to 100% was it beta tested? Did the testing show users intuitively knew how to use it?

I don't have to. I paid for the car. The car has an option to set up a comfortable temperature for pet or vegetables.
It has option to set up comfortable temperatures. I love all the animal "parents" who think ok to leave animal in car with car temp controled. As a responsible parent what temp do I set to leave my child in car, with dog and vegetables?
