New to forum and Mach-E.
Been awhile since owning/driving a Ford. My most recent vehicle that is even close was a 2018 Honda Prelude EV which I loved. Complete disclosure. Purchased a competitive automaker that purchased the Select AWD normal range from auction and sold to me. Some of what I am going to state, I may just be an idiot and hoping someone can correct/clarify:
The Good:
1. The L&F of the vehicle is quite impressive. (with a few quirks...) Refined interior and exterior of a cross over. Really roomy and able to still pick up stuff at Lowe's.
2. The drive is amazing. Really impressed with response. Handling on corners is quite good. One pedal is fantastic.
3. Impressed with the wire free Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Quick connect and reasonable synergy with the Ford native apps. (with some quirks..)
4. Perks. Appreciate the starting free KW from Ford.
5. Haven't tried it but hoping the long range navigation with charging stations is as good as I hear/read.
The Not So Good:
1. Profile customization = Logo and Radio Stations? That's it? I am missing something or do you eventually see further controls such as user: seating adjustment, side mirrors, favorite station, driving mode......etc based on selected user.
2. Range - The range I am getting is ~180 miles fully charged. I have 100 miles on the vehicle in whisper. This seems low and my biggest peev. NOTE: I am in the south (warmer) Will this improve?
3. Refinements - Some features seem rushed. The door handles are awkward at best. The screen looks like an after thought with the dash cut out. I know it is year one. Hope it gets better. Suspect power consumption related. But, surprised no rear hatch auto open (foot) and heated seats on Select.
4. Apps - How many Ford apps do I need? Ford Charging, Ford Pass anything else? Would hope for complete integration into 1 app. I have had the interface lock up briefly a few times where drop down doesn't work. Not sure if touch related or just software dev.
5. Extra - I only received 1 fob. Ford wants $520? Seems excessive.
6. Extra - I didn't receive the mounting bracket for the portable charger. Ford wants to sell a complete charger as they don't sell brackets separately. is there another source or recommendation for this?
7. Factory recall: At 2 now. Only 1 was listed. (windshield) There was another for TOD on the auto lighting but I can't find anything on this?
8. Sound - I didn't really test out the sound system when test driving. More focused on road noise. The sound system is marginal. The high and mid is good. The bass is severely lacking compared to previous gen Mustang systems.
9. Connected Built-In Navigation - A little disappointed on expiration (2025 - Thought it was longer based on reading) What is the cost after that? I am hoping assume that after that I can function with Android Auto/Apple Car Play without paying a premium?
Right now, I am still in the honeymoon phase. I do love the car. I just wish I could get better mileage, refinement, and hope Ford doesn't become a money pit for service and other...
Great forum. You have all been a huge help!
